So how many people really do sign into online games everyday?

(i am not saying i play these but these are the most popular browser/downloaded based mmorpgs) (massive multiplayer online role playing games)

For example lets take the first one runescape, this is the advert for the massive game with over 135 million accounts made!

Usualy with 100000 poeple averaging online at a time runescape is a massive friendly enviroment with many hours of gameplay.

Ok but of cource there are other games which player sign into and these can even be on consoles like The PS3 and the XBOX360. Some of the most popular played games online os these consoles is the call of duty series. With the xbox having 13m players online and the ps3 having 1m online at a time these are extremely well known throughout the youth culture and are on many chrismas lists.

So what makes gaming so popular?

Apparently in New York City there are more computer game shops than than book shops as the growth of the gaming market grown. Many people play video games as they get to do things they would have never done before and things they will never be able to do like slay dragons, fish sharks, fly and more. Also big advertising everywhere about all the games and features convince you to buy and play with friends online otherwise you’ll miss out. Also it’s quite a big talk topic so people may start tlking about and you may not know what they are on about so you want to know so you can be part of these discussions and not be left out
