The RuneScape Way

Hey all, this guide will make sure you do amazing the world of runescape as you start out. Enjoy.

Now This guide is basically for guys who are starting out. This guide is more useful to them if they are in the combat levels- 3-40.

  • Ok i have explained how one needs to start out in the guide. Money is very important in the start if you want to play comfortably without restraints. Unless you have accumulated cash amount of atleast 6-8k gp i suggest you adhere to my previous guide’s section- Money, Money and more money.

For me the Golden rule as far as combat is-

If your health falls below 12  and you have run out of food, run away from there immediatly, no matter how low level your opponent may be.

Also keep RUN always on, it could save your life.

Now for starters, once you have accumulated a decent amount of money, i suggest you buy yourself a few inventories of fish-trout,salmon,lobster(if you have enough cash for 3 full inventorys).

Unless you’re looking to be melee, i suggest you look for another help site. For mages and archers all i can say is- train it up on guards till you’re 30 then head to the caged lesser demon in the wizard tower south of Draynor.

Now the first armour you should buy is iron. Buy a full iron armour set and the weapon of you’re choice. I suggest battle axes and scimitars if you’re more interested in strength training.

Another important rule-

The format of you’re attack, strength, defence should always be like this-

Attack(highest) -2 levels Strength -2 levels Defence(lowest)

OR Strength(highest) – 2 levels Attack – 2 levels Defence(lowest)

This rule does not apply if you are looking to be a pure in a any one of those 3 ombat skills.

Pures are those who specialise one paticular skill paying very little attention to other skills. Example- 80 def, 50 attack, 49 str = Defence pure.

There are a couple of advantages is being a pure-

  • If you’re a defence pure, you get hit very less and for very low numbers
  • If you’re a strength pure, you hit very high number though you may be a bit inaccurate.
  • If you’re an attack pure, your accuracy is very very high resulting in you hitting a medium hit on almost every strike.
  • It has its disadvantages as well-
  • Attack and strength pures lose health very fast due to their low defence.

*pures can also be for onon combat skills as well

Now once you’ve got the required food and armour, depending on your level head to the following areas-

Combat lvl 3-10

  • Head to the goblins east of lumbridge and start on them.
  • Head to the swamp rats south of Lumridge in the swamp
  • If you like to explore a bit, head down the security stronghold in the barbarian village. BE CUATIOUS OF THE BARBARIANS. Do not go past the first level of the security stronghold for now.
  • IN these early stages, carry a full inventory so you can get maximum experience in each go. Also don’t forget the combat skills format.

Combat 11-20

Once you’ve had enough of goblins and rats, i think its time for an armour upgrade along with weapons. Once you have reached the attack lvl of 5 or above you can upgrade to steel or black or mithril.

Now before  you start training i suggest you purchse some more food- around 2-3 inventories of food of salmon or trout.

remember always keep you RUN on. At this stage you have more options for your training-

  • You can  kill the guards of the various cities.
  • OR you can kill the scorpions found in the dwarven mines.
  • Dwarves in the dwarven mines are another good option.

Apart from training i suggest you start doing some quests.

Armour-

IF you are already wearing black or mithril armour i say that your doing quite well.

Another option for training could be the security stronghold. For now lets take a break from combat and get your quest points to 10-12.

Combat lvl 21-30

Now when you start this part of training, you should have-

  • Full mithril armour along with a good mithril weapon.
  • Your fishing or mining or whichever skill you depend on for money should be atleast 30 or 25.

OK now you can take on bigger monsters.

Buy some more food, if you dont have enough. Keep your bank balance minimum at 6k. It makes money management easier.

Now for tranining i suggest you head for the 2nd level of the security stronghold. here the creatures are a tad bit stronger. REMEMBER THE FIRST RULE.

other good monsters for training are-

  • City guards
  • You can try out the king scorpions in the dwarven mines.
  • Barbarians. Also you can try to take on the strongest barbarian in the house in the north part of the village.
  • Hill giants and hobgoblins in the dungeon south west of the Grand Exchange.

The dungeon to the south west of the Grandexchange can be accessed via a small house south west of the grand exchange. To enter the house you need a brass key which can be obtained from the G.E or other players.Inside the dungeon lie, hobgoblins, hill giants, skeletons and bats . This is an excellant place for training though you should be aware of the lvl 42 hobgoblins. The hill giants drop big bones which can be sold for a decent amount of money.

By the time you reach 30, your money making skill should be atleast 35-37.From this point on aim at obtaining full adamant armour and weaponry.

When you reach combat lvl 30- your skills should look like this-

  • Combat 30
  • Attack 26
  • strength 23/24
  • Defence 24/25
  • Money making skill- 35-40
  • If you have these skills, congrats you’re doing pretty ok.

Combat 30-40

  • This period of training should be conentrated on the increasing of all skills. By the end of this part of training, all your skills should be atleast 10 with the exception of combat and money making skills.
  • You can now take on the lvl 42 hobgoblins of the dungeon south west of the G.E
  • Aim to obtain full adamant armour and weapon.
  • During this period you must complete all the quests except Dragon Slayer.

Once ou reach lvl 35-36, i suggest you complete the security stronghold and obtain the boots given as reward. Keep your run always on and carry food.

Combat 40 and beyond 40

I’d  like to call this stage the dragon stage as you should work towards completion of the Dragon Slayor quest once you reach combat lvl 40.

Remember you must have a combat lvl of atleast 50 before taking on the dragon. During this period work towards acquiring the recommended skills and required skills for the quest.
