The how to of the basics to RuneScape (except fighting skills)

Now, the skills of RuneScape and how far you are really change your experience. Different skills do different things. The order of the skills I am listing are in this order: crafting, ranging, magic, rune crafting, woodcutting/fire making, cooking, mining/smithing, fishing, and prayer. Once again, only non-member skills are listed.

Crafting:

One of the most diverse skills in RuneScape. You can make everything from pots to armor to holy symbols. The first thing you can make is balls of wool. I suggest you complete the Sheep Shearer quest before you try any big advancements.

Otherwise you’ll be stuck making lots of balls of wool. Once you do that, I suggest you complete the Prince Ali Rescue quest, so that you can pass from Lumby to Al-Kharid free. Then kill lots and lots of cows, so that you can get lots and lots of cowhides. Go to Al-Kharid. (From now on known as the crafting city) Buy thread and a needle from a crafting shop, then go to the tanners and get plenty of soft leather. Use the needle on the leather to make leather items.

To make clay, go just west of Varrock, then slightly south, and then mine lots of clay. Go to the barbarian village, so that you can spin the clay into items. (DO NOT GO TO A FURNACE TO FIRE THE CLAY!!!!!) Instead, there is a potter’s furnace in the middle building. Hopefully, you will have lots of new clay items!

Next is jewelry, For this, you need at least level 40 mining and smithing so that you can mine gold and silver and after smelt that into silver and gold bars. This is a huge area, and ill let u figure out what to do. I can’t take all the challenge out of it!

Ranging:

This is a smaller skill than crafting. Bows are somewhat easy to come by, especially if u r a member of the phoenix gang, where u can get phoenix crossbows! And u could make bows/arrows. For us, though, we’re stuck with the ranging shop in Varrock. The types of bows you can use depends on your level, the better your bow, and the better the arrows you can use. Which means more damage. Also, u can wear certain armor depending on your level. Get a bow, equip arrows, and find a victim who can’t attack, get experience.

Magic:

Yet another diverse skill. Anyway, your here to learn, so first things first, go to the Wizards Tower to complete the Imp Catcher quest, which will help. Also try the Witch’s Potion quest. Use as many attack spells as possible at first. I suggest you get a staff at Varrock. (Especially an Elemental Staff) Have lots of money to buy runes.

When u have plenty of runes become an archer (figuratively, not literally) and attack a helpless creature. U can also enchant certain jewelry to give you special abilities. Other things are to grab stuff you can’t reach, make money, and teleport. Good luck with this skill.

Rune crafting:

The mostly free alternative to buying runes. To do this, you have to complete the rune mysteries quest, which starts in Lumbridge castle. Once this happens, go just south of Falador, using the locate option on your air talisman. Once there, you better have rune essence, then use the talisman on the ruins. Use rune essences on the new “ruins” and you have air runes!

Once you have a higher level and other talismans, you can make other runes! (Easy) Along with that, you can now enchant tiaras to be able to make more runes. Just take a tiara you made with crafting, and a talisman, then go to any ruins (Rune Alter). Once you enchant the tiara, you can wear it and not have to carry a talisman! That means you can carry more essence, and therefore make more runes!

Woodcutting/fire making:

(Simpler than anything) get an axe. Cut down a tree, which your level allows. Light it with a tinderbox and if u have meat and the right cooking level cook the meat.

Cooking:

Most meats can only be obtained by fishing, though you can also get it by killing cows, large spiders, or large rats. Pie tins for pies and bowls for stew can be made by crafting. Cheese and a tomato for pizza have a regeneration spot in Hetty the dye maker’s house in Draynor village. Get grapes for wine from an imp, randomly.

Mining/smithing:

You should start on these skills right away. Start southeast of Varrock, where there is plenty of bronze and tin. Then go to Al-Kharid or Lumby to smelt it, and then go back up to Varrock to use a hammer and an anvil to smith it into various tools and armor. Good luck. Another way to get up mining is to get lots of rune essence. That leaves your smithing behind in the dust, so only do that if your mining sucks, but your smithing doesn’t.

Fishing:

To start, go west and a bit south of draynor, then use your net and start fishing. Eventually, go to Port Sarim and buy fishing equipment in the fishing shop. Keep fishing when you see sparkly spots of water, and you will get raw-fish that you can use for cooking. You can get fish bait by killing men and women, then get feathers from chickens.

Prayer:

A helpful skill but one that takes ages to build up. The only way to improve your prayer is bury bones, and maybe complete a quest or two. The Restless Ghost gives you lots of experience in one shot. One good place to get bones is to go to a cow field and scavenge a few bones. Make that lots of bones, Good luck, because the higher-level prayers are amazingly helpful, especially when you have pathetic defense.

Level 3 to 50 in 7 easy steps

Firstly, focus on one fighting skill until level 30. (I suggest starting with a swordsman) Secondly, kill the men and women you see that are level 2 to level 3. Thirdly, once you have reached level 6 by killing the men and women you will want to go north across a stone bridge until you hit a spot with a whole bunch of cows, after you have found the cows start killing and if your life gets low eat food or wait for it to recharge for a little bit.

Fourthly, after you hit level 10 follow the path again until it splits in two, you want to go left and then you will see the city of Varrock. Fithly, you will need to buy better armor, a better weapon, and a better shield. Go to a bank and type “buying full bronze/iron”, and after you get your full set of armor you need to type “buying iron weapon and iron/bronze shield”. Sixthly, you will want to go back on the path you took until you hit the gate with four guards at it, and then you need 10gp(gold pieces) to get through the gate, (you are now in Al-Kharid) after you get into Al-Kharid you will need to head northwest until you find the mines.

At the minds you will need to fight the scorpions you see. After you have hit level 20 it will be a bit harder. Seventhly, you will need 10 more gold pieces to leave Al-Kharid and head back through the gate. You will now want steel armor and a steel weapon of your choice, so after buying them in Varrock you will have seen level 21 guards, you guessed it. Attack those guards until you have hit level 30,

Congratulations you have officially become an adept player!!!!
