Time to Hang Up The Rune Scimmy?
All these updates in runescape… for the better or worse? Is it really time to hang up the rune scimmy?
It is well understood by a large handful of people that Runescape by Jaged Ltd has had “crazy” changes within the past couple years. Ever since Runescape has decided to create a trade limit, completely ruin PvP options, absurdly stopped people from giving gp to their pures, friends, and others, there has been a jurassic drop in the Runescape population. “I remember on those Sunday afternoons, the players logged on reached up to a million players at times” (J. Lum, dedicated Runescape players).
When Wilderness first became safe, there would be tons of clans fighting back, and saying they will quit until the original Runescape 2 was restored. At first, with these updates, those Sunday afternoons went from over a million players to just under 70,000.
But will all this drive you to quit? Many current players argue that they have already dedicated and commited years of their life to this game- got to level 100, around there, maybe higher, and party hats, masks, santa hats, tons of cash, crazy hard skill capes, high up on the hiscores, and more. They have decided that true Runescape players will avoid all obstacles to continue playing, no matter if your level 138, a level 3 skiller, or maybe an average level 30.
If you are one of those players dedicated to PvP, there is still Wildy Bounty Hunter, PvP Worlds, and more, where you can earn a decent revenue from. These dangerous PvP games are quite populated, as well as safe PvP games, such as fists of guthix, clan wars, and castle wars. Just because Wilderness was ruined, there still isn’t a legitimate excuse for quitting.
It is quite hard to find another game as fun as Runescape that you can have unlimited F2P, and membership is only like having designer clothes as opposed to regular clothes.
Now it’s your turn to decide… A truly dedicated F2P/ P2P Runescape player, or An undedicated MMORPG player who doesn’t care about the past, just the present.
