1. LOL (Laughing Out Loud)

This is the most shouted word in all Runescape. This word commonly used when a player respond to other player’s jokes or stupidity. However, it’s often used just to appreciate some players who tried to make a funny jokes. If Runescape count it, “LOL” can be shouted like 10 million times per day by various Runescape users.

Example : Lol, that dude is a total nerd!

2. NOOB (Newbie)

NOOB is commonly used by players who likes to mocking other players who are below their level by calling them NOOB and tell them that he’s higher level. Sometimes it’s also used by a real Newbie who claims to have a high level member account to call other player who’s much higher level than him to brag and feel great. But in fact, he’s just a Newbie player who can’t even reach level 40 in combat because he’s a stupid pathetic NOOB.

Example : Stop following me you noob!

3. ROFL (Rolling On The Floor, Laughing)

Like LOL, this word is commonly used to respond other player’s jokes or funny actions. However, this word mostly used when the joke or action is really funny and made the player laugh in real world.

Example : Rofl, she got killed by a Rabbit!

4. Hi!/Hello!/Hola!/Hey! (A Greeting)

This is a friendly word which understandable by all people in the world. Commonly used to greet other player throughout Runescape, even both players haven’t know each other before.

Example : Hi there! Mind if I join?

5. LMAO/LMFAO (Laughing My (F***ing) Ass Off)

This is the word that’s commonly used when other player’s jokes or actions really made the player who said this laugh a lot for minutes or even hours. It’s a bit rude though…

Example : Lmao, that girl just selling me a Burnt Pie!

6. WTF?/WTH? (What The F***?/What The Hell?)

This word is commonly used by player who’s surprised by some actions or events. In most situation, this is not a real question and shouldn’t be answered at all.

Example : Wtf? a level 3 wearing a skillcape!

7. OMG/OMFG (Oh My (F***ing) God!)

Like Wtf, this word is used when a player got surprised by an unexpected actions or events. Even though it’s sometimes used when something make a player mad, this word is mostly used when a player can’t believe what he got/saw in a good manner which made him more happy.

Example : Omg, I got Dragon Spear!

8. FFS (For F*** Sakes)

This word is commonly used when a player really mad because he couldn’t able to finish something after a lot of tries.

Example : Ffs, I always got those damned tunas! (He’s level 70 fishing and trying to catch swordfish at Karamja)

9. STFU (Shut The F*** Up)

When a player is really make annoying words on the chatbox (like singing some Spanish songs in US world), then this word will show up soon to ask that player to be quite. It’s another version of “Be Quite, Please!”.

Example : Stfu dude, you’re spamming the chatbox!

10. GTFO (Get The F*** Out/Off)

This is used when a player really annoyed by other player’s presence.

Example : Gtfo you noob, this hill giant is mine!

11. GF (Great Fight!)

This is also a friendly statement to tell other player that the player has enjoyed fighting with him. It’s commonly used in Fist Of Guthix, Clan Wars, and Wilderness.

Example : Gf man! That was fun!

Even though most of these words are rude, it doesn’t mean that the player who said that is rude too. Most of the times, those rude words are used without meaning to offence other player and purely used for fun. In 3 months I’ve played this game, I only find very few of people that used these rude words to offence other players. Most of the player in Runescape are friendly to each other and would help new player if they have a time.
