What Was Before RuneScape?
What was before RuneScape two or classic, if it even existed?
As you all know, RuneScape existed since 2001. BUT, was there anything before it? That’s the major question.
By the way, I will tell you about Paul and Andrew Gower. They invented RuneScape and Jagex and all that whatnot, but Andrew was independent for a while. He and a bunch of other friends invented DeviousMUD, which stands for Devious Multi-User Dungeon. It was written by Andrew Gower only, and had a beta released on October 1999.
Later, Paul Gower and Constance Tedder joined the party, and upgraded DeviousMUD to what we call RuneScape classic.
RuneScape classic was a famous game to people in the UK, but not that known around the world. The free point of RuneScape classic was removed, probably preparing for the jump to Runescape 2, and only people who were members could access it.
Well, after that- you all know. RuneScape 2 came out. This was a big hit all over the world, and is still gaining popularity. The graphics got wayyy better on July (or was it June?) 28, 2008. See? RuneScape did have its own history, and became what it is today.
