Why Jagex Can’t Sue RuneScape Private Servers

There are numerous reasons why it is very hard for Jagex to sue Runescape private server operators. For one, they already have to pay huge fines, but this goes to the police. And these sort of people who sit at computers in Russia hacking for a living don’t usually have tons and tons of money.

The main reason though, is that in Russia the laws are very loose (similar to Mexico) so people can do almost anything there and get away with it. Thats why all these hackers, torrents and private servers are based there and supply illegal content to the other western countries. 

Now, if Jagex tried to sue the private server operators, the U.K law would try to get into Russia to sue the operators. But Russia would just tell the U.K to get f*****. So its hard, and there are so many popping up that its hard to try and file a lawsuit against all of them. It is made harder by countries like Russia that supply the western world with illegal online content. This is stuff like private servers, porn, torrents, pirated content and more…
