There are plenty of good reasons that you shouldn’t use Runescape private servers, or any private servers for that matter. There are even more reasons why you shouldn’t make a Runescape private server. In this article I will explain some of them.
I think the best reason not to use a Runescape private server is that it ruins the fun of the game. Because the point of most private servers is that you can level much faster than in the normal game. And then if you buy membership for private servers you can level even faster most of the time. This means that everyone will get to level 99 in every skill. So the concept of the game is ruined.
Another reason is that private servers are illegal. This doesn’t mean that you could get charged or get a fine for playing on private servers. But the people who run and operate private servers get huge fines, and they all get tracked down eventually. Personally I don’t think its worth the risk.
It costs Jagex’s legal department lots of money to track down all these people who operate private servers. And it makes it even harder if you include the fact that most private servers are in Russia where people can do almost anything. Anyway, if they didn’t have to spend all that money on tracking down private servers maybe they could spend the money on improving Runescape, making membership cheaper, or taking the ads off free world accounts.
This is why you should not make a private server or support one by playing on it. There is an article on Triond explaining how to make a private server! I cannot believe Triond would publish something telling you how to do something illegal…

i have never been on a private server, and i will never use one for gaining levels or gold, but i want to know WHAT IS A PRIVATE SERVER!?!
is it like… a server with only 1-50 ppl on it or something like that?
that would be good if it was legal, but then more people would go onto them, so it would all balance out.

Dude this is retarted… You have no idea what Russia is like. Infact, I thought the law was more strict in Russia than the U.S. when I went over there… And i guarantee you that there are MUCH more RSPS’s based out of the U.S., U.K., and Australia than there ever will be in Russia… Why don’t you take your head out of your ass and think before you go and type some bullshit article to poison the minds of seven or eight people that probably read this lie…
If the laws are tighter in Russia why are tons of torrents, pirated content etc hosted there? Hackers etc?
I never tried playing on private servers… It’d make me unhappy if I again had to start from the big zero.
I know that some private servers sucks but there is 1 good private server. Emps-Scape first it may sound like you get to 9 easy well you do NOT!!!!!!!The first 30 lvls are esy but then it gets really fun it takes really long to get 99 but other servers suck a big time really only Emps is good sometimes 400+ thats good(for a prvate server). I am not advertising just giving my opinion. Good article by the way.
Also i am 87 it takes long for lvl 100 so do not expect to get if you play the game that you lvl superfast. Just wanted to say that.
