Top Five Online Browser Games
Got only a few minutes on your hands and want to play a game? This is why I have put together this list of free online games which you can really get stuck into whether it be for a few minutes or a few hours.
So you’ve got a couple of minutes free on your hands and you don’t know what to do. You don’t really think that you have the time to play a full-blown level of Doom 3. I’ve been in this situation many times so I’ve been looking a LOT for some free, no-hassle online games. I wanted to find some fun games which at the same time had the accessibility of a simple web browser. I made some good finds, and I will list them (in no particular order) and write a small description of each game.
First up is
Dragonfable
. This is the prequel to Adventure Quest where you control a character in a fictional world involving the usual demons, goblins, etc. As you kill more monsters you level up and gain more gold to buy more weapons. It’s basically the same gameplay of older RPG’s. This is a single player game so you won’t be pawning any noobs here, but it’s still a fun way to kill some time. I’ve played this game from as little as 5 minutes to almost 3 hours. The game is free, but you have the option of paying for additional features. The game is in development so it is constantly changing.
My personal rating: 5/10 (decent)
Next is
Adventure Quest
. Adventure Quest is made by the same company and is the sequel to Dragonfable and it is single player. It was made earlier however, with Dragonfable being made after. Having been in development for longer than Dragonfable, Adventure Quest has a LOT more content, but at the same time feels sort of… older (as it should). Regardless, I prefer Adventure Quest to Dragonfable because it has much more content and requires less mindless grinding. Like Dragonfable you have the option of paying for additional features.
My personal rating: 6/10 (good)
Third is
Runescape
. I’m sure almost everyone has heard of this multiplayer RPG. Notorious for having supposedly bad graphics (mind you, for a game based in Java they are actually pretty good) and a lot of grinding. Regardless, Runescape has given me plenty of hours of fun and if you’re not careful, this game will eat into your time like crazy. The game is set in a medieval sort of world involving dragons, demons etc. You have the option of taking quests to earn gold and other rewards. I suppose one of the reasons why it is so successful is because it is so accessible and getting started is so easy. You have the option to pay for additional features which is definitely something worth considering because there is so much to offer for paying members. It’s still provides many hours of gameplay for the free to play players.
My personal rating: 9/10 (excellent)
Stick Arena
is a nice change from the others because it is a fast paced action game. Players are stick figures whose basic goal include well… killing one another. The aim is to accumulate a large number of kills on your account and ascend up the ranks over time. If you only have a few minutes then you can use a quick play option and sign in as a guest. An expansion pack is currently in the making which provides a lot more content to the game including weapons and maps. Unfortunately, as of yet the game is full of hackers who use programs to cheat their way to victory in a variety of ways including invulnerability, super speed, etc. Regardless, once you get a good game going it’s great fun. Stick Arena is free to play indefinitely.
My personal rating: 7.5/10 (very good)
Lastly is Robot Rage which is played via the Miniclip website. Robot Rage is where you build a robot and challenge others to a fight on the rooftop of death. Earn credits by winning battles and use those credits to buy upgrades for your robot. Robot Rage can be somewhat difficult to play if you don’t live in the US or UK because you will get very bad lag. Robot Rage is free to play but you can pay for additional weapons and whatnot. You can customize your robot in a huge number of ways so there’s always something to do. In my opinion, it would be much better if they fixed the buggy interface, but don’t let that put you off, Robot Rage is a respectable game in itself.
My personal rating: 6/10 (good)
And there you have it. That should keep you busy for long enough. 5 games which are playable online and easily accessible. Have fun.

DARKRINE – Are you out of your mind or something?? I’m saying Lance’s been modest in giving Runescape a 9/10. It deserves 10/10, but for the graphics.

Ive played Dragonfable and Adventurequest,they are boring, you do the same things over and over. Runescape is ok but the graphics are no good and the download times suck.
I have not played the others so I dont know about those.

You have missed one of the greatest games ever, It is dieing from lack of exposure and input from the owner. Fall of Nations.Check it out, it is not an easy game to play but once you have tried it and you become proficient at it you will say the same thing . The greatest browser game ever.

I do enjoy “the five pillars”. Its a free-to-play online browser game where you can pick an alignment, build up your economy. Then you train your heroes and gather items, research spells and finally attack other mages for lands or their lives.
Play it now for years and its my favorite.

I have played only two online games using web browser:
1. Mafia Wars – it’s really cool, but I think fights are random. Not enough going on when you reach level 100 and above.
2. Ikariam – This game sucks. You can only build 1 structure at a time and it takes hours to complete 1 structure or upgrade. BORING. I only lasted level 10 and quit.

All right this the last time I going say this but that game Travian is sulkiest browser based game on planet. Not only does forum take week to respond like good comments overall it makes me feel all I get is white noise reception. If there was football game with Travian versus online games…as their mascots…believe me I rooting for online games if they place Halo hell even I know Halo. Travian is what I call lousy score in anyone’s book, its not log in the problem fact that wherever you place yourself on map other kingdoms decide to wipe you out no matter what. build bigger walls…bigger forces still wipe out. I hate to see it as Problem that someone wrote Adventure quest and dragon fable they use flash people, glittering lights yay? I don’t think so quests a crunchier but grinding isn’t what people log in for its armor yet do you have enough gold for it. leave for kids. I am sure they get bored of it sooner or later.
gpotato games are good. just don’t play corum that game doesn’t rock the mountain. they are to be downloaded. but in experience I am looking for shooter game that is browser based. Since no one placed here…I be looking around.

1. Quake LIVE
Basically, it’s online Quake 3. Really awesome. 3D Graphics, awesome FPS. Can’t get better than this. This should be ON CD, not Online. (10/10 – I NEVER give 10/10.)

Alright, i joined this for the Marble Run one, but the games on here are pretty awesome. I heard there was a Halo-type one on here! Graphics are as good as Quake LIVE. (9/10)
