Trade War Revenge Tips
How to extract revenge in Trade Wars.
You’ve just joined a new game when your character is killed by Dim Star. You are now going to teach him a lesson. You log on, (when he’s off) using a different nick. This is normal. Many players will abandon a “doomed” character when s/he is killed at virtual log on. However, you intend to cheat so have created Dual with a purpose, that is, to kill Dim Star. Since this is the focus, it is a trade of the Cruiser for a T’khasi Orion instead of a Freighter. The “Standard” Specs which concern this discussion are…
T’khasi Orion
Initial Holds: 30 Maximum
Shields: 750
Max Fighters: 750
Offensive Odds: 1.1:1
Turns Per Warp: 2
Defensive Odds: 1.1:1
Ship Base Cost: 42,250 Max Figs
Per Attack:250
Maximum Holds: 60
Transport Range: 3
compared to a Freighter…
Initial Holds: 30 Maximum
Shields: 500
Max Fighters: 300 Offensive
Odds: 0.8:1
Turns Per Warp: 2 Defensive
Odds: 0.8:1
Ship Base Cost: 33,400 Max Figs Per
Attack: 100
Maximum Holds: 65 Transport
Range: 5
The Orion takes more shields, more fighters, has better defensive and offensive odds. It’s more expensive, yes, but worth it. When one is not planet building, there is no need to buy anything except fighters and shields, or plan for anything except war. Hence Dual, trades to get an Orion with a Density, and as many fighters as he can. He travels around Star Dock, finding one way in sectors to park his armada, and ends his turns, (after putting credits in an account for You–the original character Dim Star killed–) at the Galactic Bank. As soon as You can, (and when Dim Star is not on), log back in as You.
You are playing Two characters. Yes, illegal, but Desperate times require Desperate Measures. The character of You is going to stock up on Corbomite Transducers. Corbomite is what the well dressed suicide bomber wears. Usually costing 1000 per unit and doing 20 points of damage, You load your ship with them. You want as many as you can afford. You can probably work them out to the last percentage point; (depending on the ship Dim is flying, and assuming 100% shielded capacity). This means that anyone who destroys the ship You is flying gets blown with it. This means that when Dim Star fires on You, he dies or at the very least, is podded. You (and Dual), who have nothing to “defend” in the game, can’t lose.

I really would like to introduce you to my sons, they love videogames (me too for that matter)
Maybe I will search for the game, buy it and play it. At least I will talk about it with my sons…
