What is it that makes Farmville so popular to people around the world? What makes it so popular that double the population of Canada using it? Well, I think I know what makes it so addicting.

The crops in Farmville will wither if you don’t harvest them quick enough, which encourages users to come back again and again. Withered crops won’t give you any money, and look awful when people visit your farm. In order to have a nice looking farm and earn lots of cash, you have to constantly revisit your farm, and plant crops that you know you can get to in time.

Rewards for adding neighbors are offered to users, prompting them to invite their friends to play too. That allows Farmville to spread very rapidly, obtaining new users very fast. What keeps the new users hooked is the simple interface and easy to use options in the game.

Since the game is still a beta build, it has new features and items added all the time. This keeps people checking back to see what new features have been added, and attracts new users when people get curious what all the hype is about.
