Why Online Gaming Sucks
Here’s the 411 on why playing online usually makes me want to get my keyboard and smash my hard drive (and my head) into small tiny pieces.
Communication
On the internet there is all different kinds of unintelligent dribble: LOLZORZ, PWNAGE, ROFLZ, being pumped out in fast, full, force. I cannot understand half of the kids I play with because most of the stuff they say is this crap. It gets really annoying when people quote and mimic these things called internet memes like the ORLY owls or the ICANHABCHEEZEBURGER cats. Sometimes , Actually all the time now, I prefer to play against the computer because at least it won’t spam O RLY 1000 times in a chat log or go scream some terrible racist rant because I won a game.
Difficulty

Sometimes I’m surprised at the predictably of actions from humans. I mean sometimes the CPU is more unpredictable than the common player. I mean if you’ve been going for the same weapon, using the same strategy, or applying the same technique for the past couple of games it becomes aware to me you’re going to repeat the pattern for some time until you figure out yourself “WOW I should change it up a little bit.” Even after that point some players eventually begin to use another technique and just repeat that over and over again. Sometimes if I want to play against a actual hard opponent I just set the computer’s difficulty to max.
Community

Some games suffer terribly with a very horrible community especially the console online games. I don’t even touch the online experience on my Xbox because of the crowds of prepubescent children who ravages the games like a swarm of flies over a dead carcass. They’re attitudes usually make a fun experience into a very pitiful one. It also sucks on MMORPG games
Feelings and Attitudes
There is another dilemma people’s feelings get mixed into games. I can understand getting into the whole game experience, but some people believe they are ACTUALLY in the war on terrorism when they play the newest Call of Duty. This whole SERIOUS attitude makes me shiver. I play games to have fun and to entertain myself. I don’t play to get yelled at by a fifteen year old testosterone filled nerd who is mad at me because I’m not a super awesome player like he is. I can also understand a passion for some games like MMORPGS such as World of Warcraft, but please remember to separate the real world and the world of azeroth. Just like Las Vegas what happen’s in Azeroth stays in Azeroth.
There could be much more but basically I think these couple of things cover most of the problems. You might think these things aren’t something that should deter you from playing online and in my case it doesn’t but it’s something you should be aware of and look out for.

LOL (*flinch) I love this article! I am a 47 year old woman who enjoys playing WoW, but I have also run into all of the irritations you mention here.
You left out the top 3 reasons why online gaming sucks.
1. Lag
2. Cheaters
3. Glitchers
I love how this is about why online gaming sucks yet on the same page there are all these advertisements for online games, LMAO. (Please excuse my “internetz” speak)
In all seriousness, I wish WoW had an offline mode like Phantasy Star Online did, then I might actually start playing it again.
Online Gaming: Rise of the Scrubs
lets not forget the arseholes who complain/sulk when they get accidentally team killed even if you apologize. people like that have no business playing online.
I Agree that online gaming sucks(on xbox 360, most multiplayergames) For example, You can not play a decent match in Halo, because there is always lag. This counts for most games like that, There is always lag in games, which makes the whole experience unfair. If you are the host, you can kill 50 people, if your not, its basicly a matter of luck about whos bullets hit first, its a matter of nanoseconds.
Even if it looks like there is no lag, there still is when your playing with people from around the world. Its BS.
