Ragnarok Wizard Equipments: Thors Pwned

I picked out 5 models from whom I chose the equipments to include in this guide. These models are “Thor leechers” so their equipment will be most suitable when fighting inside Thors Volcano Dungeon.

Items Description:

Here are the classifications for all the equipment shown above. I categorized the items into: (1) Head, (2) Body, (3) R-Hand, (4) L-Hand, (5) Robe, (6) Shoes, (7) Accessory. I also categorized the cards that you may compound in your equipment into their designated slots.

I also made tables showing the following information: Item Name, number of Slots (for compounding cards into), the equipment/s Effect/s and the Required Base Level for you to be able to weild the item.

Head

 ~Cards: Isilla (Aria) INT +2, Cast time -50%, FLEE +30

                Vesper(Vision) Boss’ MDEF -30%, DEX +2

The best items to combine for a headgear that is high in DEX is [Dark Randgris Helm/Ulle's Cap + Robo Eye] + [Rainbow Scarf] = DEX +3. For a high MATK boost, you can choose [Balloon Hat] + [Eye Patch (set)] + [Rainbow Scarf/Ninja's Scroll] = MATK +10%. Note that you also need to equip a Memory Book and a Pocket Watch in order to activate the set effect of the Eye Patch. You may try other combinations that you think will suit you better.

The -50% casting time of the Isilla Card is useful specifically for Wizards who have a low DEX, because the casting time reduction is greater compared to a Wizard with a high Dex.

Wizards with a high base DEX and/or high DEX equipment may find the Vesper card more useful. If you can manage to obtain a total of 150 DEX (from base DEX, job bonuses, equipments and buffs), you will be granted instant cast time for almost all skills so the Isilla Card will not be of much use. The Vesper Card is very effective against monsters, especially Boss monsters because it will decrease the enemy’s MDEF by 30%.

Body

 ~Cards: Pasana(of Ifrit) Enchant armor with FIRE property, DEF +1

The Robes of Orleans is a very important item for Wizards because it grants its wearer uninterruptible spell casting for the expense of an increased casting time by 15%.

The Pasana Card is very effective in Thors Volcano Dungeon or in areas where monsters have Fire or Earth properties. When wearing Pasana Card, you will be resistant to Fire and Earth property attacks. You might also want to buy a Dokkaebi Card, a card that enchants your armor with Wind property, giving you resistance to Wind and Water attacks. With both cards, you can be prepared for battle against almost any element of Monster.

R-Hand

The staff of Piercing is a good weapon to use – upgrading it will increase your chances of ignoring 10% of your enemy’s MDEF.

L-Hand

 ~Cards: Thief Bug Egg(Rigid) MHP +400

                Alice(of Royal Guard) receive -40% dmg from boss monsters, receive +40% dmg from normal monsters

The Memory book grants its wearer the set effect: [HP and SP recov +15%, Matk +7%] when worn with an Eye Patch and a Pocket Watch.

Orlean’s Plate is a great equipment because it reduces your casting time by 10% when worn with Gloves of Orleans. If you wear these two  together with Orlean’s Plate, you will be able to cast spells withour being interrupted for the expense of increasing your casting time by only 5%.

Alice Card is very useful in Thors because most of the monsters there are bosses or mini-bosses. With this card, you will only receive 60% of their damage. You should also have another shield that has a different card so that you can switch to it when a non-boss monster attacks you. The Thief Bug Egg Card might be useful for this purpose.

Robe

 ~Cards: Raydric(Immune) +20% resistance to neutral dmg

A Wool Scarf with a Raydric card makes your Wizard tough, giving it [HP recovery +5%, MHP +10%] and a 20% resistance against neutral damage. Note that you also need to wear Tidal Shoes for the set effect of the Wool Scarf to take action.

Shoes

~Cards: Matyr(Green) MHP +10%

                Verit(Fledged) MHP and MSP +10%

                Green Ferus(of Wanderer) VIT +1, MHP +10%

                General Egnigem Cenia / Boss Egnigem (of Regeneration) Restores 50HP and 10SP every 10 secs, MHP and MSP +10%

Wearing Tidal Shoes with a Wool Scarf gives a great defense bonus. When worn with the cards listed above, your Wizard will recover HP and/or SP a lot faster.

Accessory

 ~Cards: Zerom (Nimble) DEX +3

Both the Glove of Orleans and the Pocket Watch give good MATK bonuses. The difference is that the Glove of Orleans has a DEX bonus and it decreases casting time as a set effect while the Pocket Watch provides faster HP and SP recovery when worn as a set.

The Zerom Card may be very important if you are trying to achieve “Instant Cast” (150 DEX) for your Wizard.
