Breaking News: Nexon Shutting Down Maplestory!

Nexon has just released the statement saying that MapleStory is being shut down due of three factors. See why here.

MapleStory started 5 years ago, in April 2005. Nexon’s original goal was to find a way to market with MapleStory. They finally realized they cannot earn money with a game like MapleStory, so they are shutting it down. 

Why is MapleStory being shut down?

1. Nexon is fed up about the bots in the game. Because there are a lot of Chinese Mesos farming websites, they constantly bot in the game, and earn millions of mesos, which they then sell to players. If you have ever been in the Free Market just recently, you will notice a huge increase of Mesos farming website advertisers. There are literally 10 bots in every major map. Nexon has tried to stop these people, but they keep evading their ban, by changing the IP of their connection.

2. Nexon feels the newer games, Dungeon Fighters Online, and Mabinogi Heroes (Vindictus) are better marketing games. Their attention on MapleStory has decreased a  lot, as they have implemented the Permanent NX Cash system. They have estimated that they will lose 10 Million dollars every year after their horrible mistake. 

3. Nexon is no longer making money with MapleStory. They are hiring 100’s of new developers, to help them get rid of any possible hacks, but they just cannot do it. Just recently, hackers have exploited an event, which caused the economy of MapleStory to get even worse. The hackers were able to get 1000’s of White Scrolls (5 Dollars USD Value) and put them into the market. As a result, every single item in the market has increased. Nexon loses millions of dollars with the Mesos farming websites, and they cannot stop them.

    Relax, I think Nexon is going to give 10% of what you spent as ‘NX Credit’. That means you can spend it on a different game!

    LOLS. Whom ever publish should work on their grammar and punctuations. Btw Nexon does no control the mesos price on items it’s the economy itself, which does that. LOLS and to think that I was about to spend money on this failed game.
