Maplestory Private Server

Maplestory was originally created by Nexon, A South Korean company, however everything changed one day in October 2006. Serpenediumm a German scripter, gathered up a team of proffesional scripters and ripped GMS(global maplstory). They copied there source by changing the Wz files(files needed to play the server) into Xmls. The Xmls were then able to be used with java script since javascript accepts Xmls. Once they had all the files setup they started a private server of maplestory. A private server is when you can play the game, however it is not the actual game and you will get many more advantages then the regular game. The first private server released was called Odinms originally named after a German scripter. And the second Private server released was LocalMS (MS stands for Maplestory). LocalMS was made from the same person who made Odinms. Odinms and Localms had different Exp Rates. Odin had 8exp and local had 100exp. Of course more people went to LocalMS and about half the people went to Odinms. But at that time no one else had private servers except odin and localms because they would not release there java source.

Thus a guy named Koolk made a C++ server. The server koolk made was not very good, it had lots of bugs and glitches and it was not stable. So at that time not many people played any other server except local and odin. But one day Serpenediumm released there source, creating a new era of private servers soon everyone would make private servers. What Serpenediumm did not know was what was ahead of him. After the release Nexon corp. America filed a lawsuit against Serpenediumm for stealing there video game. Odin and Local were then shutdown and had a courtcase. Nexon pressed $500,000 of charges, but luckily serpenediumm had very good lawyers and he made it out wihtout paying a cent. But he could never make a private server from then on again. Hence a new team of developers erupted. They were called the Flow Team. They updated the old source left by odin and continued the progress. And private servers cruised on smoothly for another 5months. Unfortunately once again the Flow Team was now sued. Now there are no one else to develop the private server and it is now stuck at V.62 while GMS is at V.66 and still going up. Today there are thousands of private servers out there, and thousands of people who play them. Soon enough a new Dev team will be created and the private server industry will rise again.
