Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver: The New Age of Pokemon
Release Dates: Japan – Sept. 12, 2009; North America – April 2010; Europe – April 2010.
Revisit the Johto Region!
In the new Pokemon games, the story will take place in the Johto Region. Much like the Fire Red and Leaf Green games, these are remakes of Gold and Silver. There is one major difference, though. Once you defeat the Elite Four and become the Champion, you will be able to visit the Kanto Region as well.
The Kanto Region will have 8 more Gym Leaders to defeat. When you defeat them all, you will be the true Champion of both regions.
Have your Pokemon follow you around!
In these new games, you are able to have your first Pokemon (that is, the Pokemon you send out in battle first) follow you around! It will pop out of the Pokeball automatically when you start walking. This feature is capable with all 493 Pokemon! Which reminds me…
Pokemon form the Diamond/Pearl/Platinum games can be traded over!
In order to complete the National Pokedex, you must trade over Pokemon from the D/P/Pt games! Earlier in the game, much like the D/P/Pt games, if you only have a regional Pokedex, the Pokemon that aren’t included in it will have ??? for there Pokedex number. But it is still possible to use and train them.
Capture Ho-Oh and Lugia!
In Heart Gold, Ho-Oh will be available to catch after you defeat Team Rocket. You must also defeat the 5 Maiko Girls. Once you do that you must go to: (Heart Gold users) the brass tower/(Soul Silver users) the Whirlpool Islands. Please note that you will need both games r a friend to get both legendary Pokemon. These Pokemon are at Level 45.
Entei, Raikou and Suicine Reappear!
These three legendary Pokemon are also available to capture. Entei and Raikou will be wandering aroung the Johto Region. However, Suicine will be waiting for you at various parts across the Johto and Kanto regions. You will have to look around for him before you are able to battle him. All three of these Pokemon are at Level 50.
Get a Notched-Ear Pichu!
This Pichu is only available if you transfer over the Pikachu-Coloured Pichu from the D/P/Pt series. They were distributed across Japan earlier this year. You must have that Pichu following you. Then you go the the Ilex forest and visit Celebi’s Shrine. You must make sure that the Pichu is out of its Pokeball, otherwise it will not work. You must also have an empty Pokemon slot as the Pichu will join your party without a battle.
**NOTE** This Pichu is not possible to trade out of the game.
Get One of the Three Legendaries of Sinnoh!
If you trade over the Arceus from the movie, you will be able to meet Cynthia from Sinnoh. Take it to the ruins and to the Professor’s house. Make sure that the Arceus is the Pokemon following you. The Professor will take you into the ruins, where you will be teleported to different ruins. There you will have to put all your Pokemon besides Arceus into the PC that is in the lodge. Then you can go to the ruins where Cynthia is waiting for you. She will tell you that Arceus has the ability to create lives. You will then get to Chose between Palkia, Dialga and Giratina. They are all at Level 1.
