Blackfathom Deeps Maps: Quest Objectives Pinpointed

Trouble in the Deeps:

  Trouble in the Deeps is not actually a quest involving the instance itself–but the pre-quest leading to the quest titled The Essence of Aku’Mai. Trouble in the Deeps can be picked up from Tsunaman and elemental whom is located in the Sunrock Retreat area of the Stonetalon Mountains. To complete this quest and acquire the quest The Essence of Aku’Mai, simply fly/travel to Zoram’gar Outpost in Ashenvale, and speak with Je’neu Sancrea.

The Essence of Aku’Mai:

  You can find Saphire of Aku’Mai everywhere outside the instance but only in the depths. They are very easy to spot. Just look along the walls for crystals resembling the following screen-shot.

Allegiance to the Old Gods:

  This quest starts from the Damp Note which drops off Blackfathom Tide Priestesses inside Blackfathom Deeps, but not inside the instance itself. Bring the Damp Note to Je’neu Sancrea at Zoram’gar Outpost in Ashenvale to begin the second part of this quest. For the follow up on this quest, Lorgus Jett can be found in one of the four areas indicated as (area 1) on the map below.

Knowledge in the Deeps & In Search of Thaelrid:

  The Lorgalis Manuscript can be found in the northernmost alcove of the room with turtles, and the turtle boss Ghamoora. For further clarity refer to the map below, the small black chest which contains the Manuscript can be found in (area 2.)
  Argent Guard Thaelrid can also be found in one of the alcoves attached to this room. Thaelrid is located in (area 3) on the below map.

Researching the Corruption:

  The Corrupted Brain Stems drop off the Naga and Demon type mobs both inside and outside the actual instance. However, these quest items will only drop off the mobs of these sorts that are actually in Blackfathom Deeps. Hence the Naga above Blackfathom Deeps, and along the Zoram Strand do not drop Corrupted Brain Stems.

Twilight Falls:

  Twilight Pendants drop off of nearly all the mobs whom have the Twilight title at the beginning of their name, they can be found most commonly in (area 4) as indicated on the below map.

Amongst the Ruins:

  The Fathom Core can be found in (area 5) on the map above. It is underwater in this area so keep that in mind. Below is a picture of what it looks like to help you spot it. Read Baron Aquanis below before looting the Fathom Core.

Baron Aquanis:

  After looting the Fathom Core, be sure to kill Baron Aquanis, whom spawns nearby. He will drop for you the Strange Water Globe, which will start you on this quest, after which you have but to hand it in to Je’neu Sancrea at the Zoram’gar Outpost.

Blackfathom Villainy:

  The quest objective here is to collect the Head of Kelris, therefore you must make your way through Blackfathom Deeps to the Twilight area and kill Twilight Lord Kelris. He can be found Kneeling before a large alter in (area 6) on the map below.

Opening the door to Aku’Mai’s Lair:

  To get inside the lair you will need to light light four fires which are located in (area 6) on the above map. The catch here, is that each fire you light will cause a mob of creatures to spawn in both the north and south areas of this room. The trick is to light each fire one at a time, unless you are high enough level then you can just light them all and AOE (Area Of Effect) the crap out of all the mobs which come at you.
  Below is a picture of the alter and the candles/oil dishes which you need to light. After all the mobs are defeated, the doors will open. See (area 7) on the above map if you are not sure where the doorway is.
