DotA Paradise: Bone Fletcher’s Guide

Bone Fletcher is definitely my favorite hero in the game of DotA and here is a simple guide of how I use him.

“An elvish archer in life; a nightmare in death. With only his arrows left of his past life, he exists now only to perfect his archery. He moves like the wind, shooting his flaming arrows just as fast, and isn’t above sacrificing the Scourge`s own soldiers for his purposes.” That is only the first half of the description of the character Bone Fletcher from DotA. Bone Fletcher is a very powerful hero. With the spells of strafe, searing arrows, windwalk, and an ultimate of death pact he is able to attack extremely fast, improve his damage immensely, escape out of tight situations with invisibility, and heal himself whenever there are creeps around, respectively. With these abilities, Clinkz the Bone Fletcher is able to deal damage, run away, and take hits whenever he is needed. These dexterities make him a very powerful ally but also an extremely dangerous enemy assuming the player using him knows how to play DotA.

So now on to the guide. I’ve only had the expansion to Warcraft III for a month, but i started playing Reign of Chaos sometime back in eigth grade. So although I am still a noob, I’m a decent noob that doesn’t rage about losing or getting a bad kill death ratio (which usually happens.) Anyways, so at the start of the game I always start with gauntlets of strength and trees to eat (can’t remember what they’re called). It would probably be a better idea to start with a Wraith band, but I use the gauntlets later for power treads. I also start with the level one spell of searing arrows. Once I hit the lane I enjoy harassing enemy melee heroes with it because the bonus 20 damage really adds a kick. In the lane you know what to do…just harass the enemy, deny your creeps, and try to get last hit on enemy creeps to send money to your bank.

Now that the beginning is all set I’ll just list out the spells I get.

  1. Level one Searing Arrows
  2. Level one Windwalk
  3. Level two Searing Arrows
  4. Bonus +2 points (I know this is noobish, but I don’t really find leveling up Windwalk that early so useful and I never use Strafe this early)
  5. Level three Searing Arrows
  6. Level one Death Pact
  7. Level four Searing Arrows (I suppose at this level I should have strafe, but I get it at level 8)
  8. Level one Strafe (Finally! Yes i know it’s really late, but I like to start ganking at a comfortable level)
  9. Level two Strafe
  10. Level three Strafe
  11. Level two Death Pact
  12. Level four Strafe
  13. Level two Windwalk
  14. Level three Windwalk
  15. Level four Windwalk
  16. Level three Death Pact

And then from level 17 to level 25 I just get the bonus points because that is all there is left to get.

Now the items I get consist of the following. I get power treads of strength for the movement speed, attack speed, and bonus hitpoints. I get sange and yasha for the hitpoints, attack speed, and movement speed. (I know that orb effects don’t stack and sange is an orb and searing arrows are also orb effects, but whenever i autocast searing arrows or when i hotkey “r” to use it once, it overrides the less useful movement reduction of sange. And also when I’m not using searing arrows the slowing effect of sange is there to help.) I get a buriza for the critical hits. I get a monkey king bar so that I won’t miss a single shot. I get a butterfly for the evasion, damage, and agility. Now i hardly ever get to a butterfly since I’ve spent so much money by then so I hardly ever get to my sixth and final item either which is an orchid of malevolence. I’ve thought about going for some oblivion staffs earlier on in the game, but I never find myself getting them since I’m saving up for the items I’m more used to using.

So finally the basic tactic I use with Clinkz is to windwalk behind an enemy and turn on strafe and autocast searing arrows. It’s simple but effective and since I’m still pretty noobish that’s pretty much what I do when I gank enemies and assist allies (or killsteal for that matter). Well I hoped you enjoyed reading up on how I use Clinkz the Bone Fletcher and I hope you own some noobs with him in the near future. I know I will be…or at least I’ll be getting owned by pr0z playing DotA.

P.S. my username is “notassociated” in Warcraft. I play on US East.
