How I Rush with Humans in Warcraft 3 FT

Recently I’ve started using the Human race in Warcraft III The Frozen Throne and I really enjoy a mass footman rush. So basically I go double barracks with no blacksmith in order to make more footmen and I use a paladin with the healing ability.

First, take a peasant and build an altar of kings right away. Then take a second peasant to build a farm. Send the three remaining peasants to the gold mine and then train two peasants in the town hall while setting the rally point on the gold mine. Now wait for the gold in the bank to reach 160 gold and take a mining peasant and have him build a barracks. Make sure to wait until after he sends the gold to town hall as this peasant will be chopping wood soon. Now train another peasant and let him mine gold.

By now, the first farm will have been built so send the peasant that had built it to build another farm. For some reason these farms look like houses, but maybe it’s a way for these peasants to go green for the environment. Or maybe Blizzard didn’t realize that farms don’t usually look like houses. Anyways now train 2 or 3 peasants to chop wood. I prefer having 6 peasants chopping wood since humans tend to need more wood for some reason. 5 is fine for the rush since footmen only cost 135 gold and no wood. Once again your choice. Now at this point the altar and second farm should be completed at approximately the same time and start training a paladin as a hero and send the two builders to chop wood. Now the hero is really your choice. I’ve never tried Blood Mage but his flame strike is rather useful for destroying towers. Archmage’s water elemental is a powerful extra unit and is great for rushes as well. The Mountain King’s ground stomp is useful for assisting your units in slowing down enemy units. And finally my favorite for rushes is the Paladin. At level 1 he can get heal to heal your allies and if he manages to reach level 2, his armor aura gives bonus armor to all ally units and is a great help in early and late gameplay. Anyways, I recommend the Paladin, but really any hero is useful.

So back to building stuff. Once the 3 peasants are done training, the barracks should be up and there should be enough gold to train a footman right away. Now wait for 160 gold and 60 wood and build your second barracks. The only reason you build the footman before the second barracks is because there isn’t enough wood at that time to build the second barracks. Now build another footman and then afterwards another farm. This farm will be built at 20 food and should be completed as another footman you train afterwards is partially done training.

Now finally, the second barracks is complete and it’s time to alternate between building footmen between the two barracks. Make sure to build farms whenever necessary which is approximately when you have 6 spare food.

So good luck with your rush and you should have plenty of footmen to assist your allies in the rush. Hopefully your team wins in the rush, but if something unfortunate happens such as a teamkiller, a techer, or even a great opposing team, then it’s time to stop building footmen and to start training stronger units. Well I hope you enjoyed reading this guide and have fun playing Warcraft III The Frozen Throne!
