Where Runescape Went Wrong

Runescape just isn’t what it used to be.

I began playing RS about 5 years ago. Back then, it was wonderful. The creators were constantly striving to make it a better game, and it held such a great charm and involvement that users joined by the droves. In recent months, a surprising amount of content has been removed because of supposed bad player behavior, which sounds reasonable, but isn’t there a better way to fix that then take part of the game away from loyal players?

I believe that if only the original depth and un-commercialized sparkle were brought back, Runescape would continue to capture the browser RPG audience of the world. I feel insulted as a veteran player that they assault me and my gaming experience with ads and demands for membership money. They shouldn’t be luring you into paying for their game, you should be rewarding them for making a great game. That’s how it used to be.
