Guild Wars 2: What The Public Knows or Suspects

Below is a list of what the public knows and suspects on what Guild Wars 2 will be like:

• The release date has note be announced but is said to released sometime in 2010/2011
• The level cape is due to increase. No longer will be stuck at 20. It’s said to be around 100 but there maybe no limit to what level you can be…. but this is only a rumor.
• A side-kick system will be introduced from the City of Hero’s game. This is to help player reach the higher levels.
• A Global persistent game world will be introduced. This means that the game runs only on 1 instance. Not like in the originals, when you head out into a new area and the whole map is only has you and your players in it. Much like world of Warcraft.
• It has been confirmed that this game will be free to play. The only thing you have to buy is the game itself.
• It’s set 250 years in the future.
• The lost city of Orr may reappear within the storyline.
• All continents from the originals should be in the game.
• You’ll be able to play as different Races. The races that’ll be playable are: Human, Norn, Asura, Sylvari and Charr
• You’ll be able to redeem rewards from the Hall of Monuments
• Old players are not allowed to migrate to the game but there names will be saved for you to use.
• PVP is still within game.
• New events system. There are no longer green markers to start event quest but you’ll have to be there at the time for the event to start.
• Game now will incorporate a Z-axis in game. (Up and down motion). This will mean that you may be able to jump or even fly. (Like WoW)
• Playable on Direct X10 so should have even better graphics than the originals (though not required to play)
• New Game Engine
• New systems to PVP and PVE

From all the information that has been given, you can see that this game is going to be quite like WoW. But hopefully even better. Its gonna be free, have around the same size game world, have similar controls, Much Much better graphics. If this become a success this could be the death of WoW…. could be.
