How to Download, Install, and Play World of Warcraft for Free

This guide will show you how to download, Install, and play World of Warcraft for free.

1: Click this link and download and save the installer.

2: After it’s done run the program and this should appear.

3: Click World of Warcraft and then click ok this should appear.

4: After it is done another screen should appear and you should press install.

5: After some hours (or 1-2) days depending on your internet connection you should have it done but most servers nowadays use at least The Burning Crusade expansion so open the program you downloaded earlier but this time click The Burning Crusade.

6: Press ok and do the same you did for World of Warcraft and it should be done after a while.

7: Good now you have both World of Warcraft and The Burning Crusade installed but you also want to install the Wrath of The Lich King expansion installed therefore open the program again but this time click Wrath of the Lich King.

8: Ok now you have World of Warcraft with The Burning Crusade and Wrath of The Lich King installed now you need to patch your game but before you do that I recommend you first search for the private server you want to play on ill post some at the end of the guide but first let’s patch it open the folder in which World of Warcraft is installed and click launcher (it usually is in Computer/C/Program files/World of Warcraft) but in my case I installed it somewhere else.

9: Look at the screenshot at number 9 at the top left part you should see “World of Warcraft v3.1.3” that is my current patch and before you patch yours you should first see in which version is your current patch, after you opened the launcher it should automatically start patching and it shouldn’t take long until it has updated itself but after it has already updated itself up to v3.0.9 or 3.1.3 close the program.

10: Open the folder in which World of Warcraft is installed and right click “Wow” and create a shortcut of it right click the shortcut and click cut afterwards go to your desktop and paste it there, delete the other shortcut which should already be there because the other shortcut would open the launcher which would patch the game more than you want and if it did you wouldn’t be able to continue playing in the server you currently are or (in the case it was already in version 3.0.9 you probably wouldn’t be able to continue playing in private servers.

11: Good you have installed WoW and have patched it now all you have to do is find a server in which you would like to play for a list of servers click this link that page contains a very big list of private servers but I play on this server because I like the fact the experience multiplier is only 1x but here is the link after you have decided in which server you would like to play on go to step 12.

12: After you have registered in the server you would like to play that server should tell you it’s realmlist and to play on that server you have to change your realmlist to do so open the folder in which you have installed WoW and click “Data” after that click “enUS” and there should be a file which is called realmlist right click it and click open after that click “select a program from a list of installed programs” and select notepad after that type in there set realmlist (and the name of the realmlist of the server) and it should look something like this.

13: After all is done you should be able to play WoW.
