Worst Things About World of Warcraft
Some of the worst things about the very popular game “World of Warcraft”
I have played world of warcraft for quite some time and looking past the mental and physical health implications from its addictiveness (if this is an issue for you there is something wrong with that picture and it doesn’t have anything to do with the game), I have found elements that make the gaming experience boring, annoying, and plain dumb.
1. One of the major things that really should not be an element in the game is that you basically do better the longer you play as opposed to your skill. While these two things partially come hand in hand (the longer you play the better your skills) its not a balanced increment. A player who is far above others in skill still wont be that good if they havent taken hours upon hours to do 40 man dungeons and collect good equipment. So if two people who fight with fairly equal characters the more skilled one should win, right? Not in world of warcraft, a player can even have a much better character but if the weaker one has awesome gear, that’s who’s likely to win.
One might argue that if you bother to spend the time then you deserve better rewards and such, yet this is not sending a good message especially when it comes to real life. A skilled artist deserves to be recognised more than someone who sucks but spends all their time painting. Really how many other games are there where time outweighs skill? Not very many.
Simply put: too much emphasis on equipment and time and not enough on the character and skill.
2. Parts of the game are simply boring… Fishing for example, o sure they’ve made it a bit less time consuming with patches and such but it is still extremely boring. Another that has always bugged me is the quests. So many of the quests are essentially the same thing over and over and over, often times its go kill a bunch or one creature. OVER and OVER and OVER again these quests appear. Not to say all are bad there are a few interesting ones that appear now and then, and in my opinion, questing sure beats grinding (just running around killing things for no reason to gain experience).
Simply put: large portions of the game are boring and time consuming. (again with the time)
3. As mentioned before, to get good gear you have to put in alot of time and work together with a bunch of other players doing 40 man dungeons and the like. While this is a cool aspect of the game there should be ways to get awesome equipment to rival the equipment found in these 40 man dungeons working all by yourself or with minimal other players. There should be areas that do simply require skill to get through and in doing so you get good equipment. Again this goes into the time thing, it takes a long time to get 40 people together, if you could do it solo then you could just walk up and do it.
Simply put: No choice but to rely on other people to get good loot and take forever to get it done. (AGAIN more time consuming junk!)
4. Customization and class balance are unfortunate… Very often you find people who look exactly like you, there are better customization options in many free-to-play multiplayer games. Maybe make a profession to paint your armor and such? (or something of the sort). Class balance is fairly rediculus though it has slowly gotten a *little* better. Theres always one or two classes that are far better than all the others if you were to equally match two together. And then a patch comes around and “nerfs” or makes that class effectively useless and a different class becomes overpowered. Though yes, some classes SHOULD simply be better than others but not ALL the others. There should be advantages and disadvantages between all the classes.
(AMAZING ONE NOT ABOUT TIME!!!)
Otherwise this is a very cool game, though they could make the graphics better for those who have the computers to handle them… as the graphics really are not all that good.

I agree with you. (in most of the things)
