RuneScape Crafting Guide 1-99

Crafting is …

Crafting is unfortunately a very cher(Expensive*) skill if not done correctly, and could result in losing MASS amounts of Runescape gold just to achieve the maximum level( 99*)

This guide teaches you how accomplish the maximum level, and in-resulting losing the little amount of Runescape gold.

Fact : You’l never gain a profit from Crafting if you want your levelling to be efficient. The only way to gain profit is to be unbearably patient and earn slow and vain Experience.

The Crafting training guide :

Crafting can be an expensive skill but also gain you a lot of money. This guide isn’t just a training guide but it is also a money making guide. Crafting can be a extremely profitable skill – even at level 10.
This guide has two sides a p2p (members) and f2p (freeplay). It also has two training guides for each, a normal training guide where you get up your level quickly and a money making training guide. If you are a member you can do many profitable things with crafting and even though you don’t make as much in free-play you still make a lot.

Crafting quests
Crafting Levels 1-4
Do the quest Sheep Shearer and the quest Goblin Diplomacy. Check out the quest guides to find out how.
Crafting Levels 4-7
First you need to head to the Cow field in east Lumbridge which is over the bridge near the goblin house. Bring 38 gp or 28 gp if you have completed Prince Ali Rescue. You need 22gp to turn the cow hides into soft leather and 10 gp more for getting past the toll gate into Al Kharid unless you have completed the Prince Ali Rescue quest. You also need 6 gp for buying a needle and 5 tread from the crafting shop.
You get cow hides from attacking cows and getting one of their 100 % drops. Then you go into Al Kharid and talk to the Tanner. He will turn your 22 cow hides into leather. Then go to the crafting shop and buy 1 needle (1 gp) and 5 pieces of thread (5 gp).
Then use your needle with the leather and choose which item you would like to make, in this case leather gloves.  Right click (or if you haven’t got right click on then it will automatically come up) put on select all and it will make you 22 leather gloves and you will get up to level 7.
Then go to Al Kharid bank and bank your gloves also take out 40 gp or 30 gp if you have completed Prince Ali Rescue. Then find your way back to the cow field in Lumbridge  (teleporting, going through the gate (10 gp) or walking round the fence).
Crafting Levels 7-9
Now you have a high enough level to make leather boots. Get 20 cow hides from the cow field in Lumbridge. Then head through the gate (or around) and go to the Tanner and change your cow hides to soft leather (for 20 gp).
Then head to the crafting shop buy 1 needle (1 gp if you dropped it before or no longer have a needle) and 4 pieces of thread (4 gp). Then use the needle with the leather and select all on leather boots. Now head to the bank and store your 20 leather boots.
Crafting Levels 9-11
Now you can make leather Cowls. You need 22 to advance to level 11 so kill 22 cows and take the 22 cow hides then head through the gate and remember to buy some more thread if needed. Head to the tanner turn your hides into 22 soft leather (22gp) then use the needle with the leather and select leather cowls. Congratulations you should be level 11.
Crafting Levels 11-14
Now you can make leather vambraces. To reach level 14 you need to make 35 of them which is 2 trips to the Tanner. First kill 25 cows and get the  hides then go through the gate (you may want to stock up with plenty of thread – 250 thread will be fine for a while).
Then head to the tanner and tan the 25 into 25 soft leather then use the needle with the leather and make 25 leather vambraces. Then bank the vambraces and repeat this time killing 10 cows getting the hides going through the gate. Now go straight to the Tanner, get him to tan your hides then use your needle with the leather and make 10 vambrances !! You should now be level 14 !!
Crafting Level 14-18
Leather Bodys are the next stop you need to make 57 of them. Do what you normally do to make the leather. It will take you 3 trips, 2 of 25 and 1 of 7. If you have to pay for the gate it will cost you 98 gp altogether if you don’t then it will cost you 68gp.
Crafting Level 18-38
Now you can make leather chaps you have to make 996 which will take a long time but is worth it. It will take you 40 trips with every trip getting 25 hides and the last one taking 21. You may need to buy some more thread if you are low.
Crafting Level 38-99
Now you have two main choices in f2p of going the whole way to 99.
1) If you make 351,461 of these you will get to level 99 crafting. It is a massive goal and will take along time. You will have to do 14,059 trips and you need 70,293 pieces of thread and 1 needle which will cost 70294gp. You also need 140,590 gp for the toll if you haven’t completed Prince Ali Rescue and 352,461gp for the tanner. That’s a total of 566,845gp or 426,255 gp if you have completed thePrince Ali Rescue quest.
2) With 100 gp buy a tiara mould and mine or buy 247,696 silver ores. Turn them all into silver bars using a furnace then turn them all into silver tiaras. This is best done in Falador where there’s a bank near a furnace.
Supplies
With method 1) 568,763 gp or 427,693 gp (prince Ali rescue)
With method 2) 2018 gp or 1538 gp (prince Ali rescue)
Profit
With Method 1) 3,514, 610
With Method 2) 24,769,600
If you add the supplies and profit up it shows method 2 is definitely better if you are mining your own ores and it would get a lot of mining experience. Overall I think Method 2 is the better method.

Crafting Levels 1-4
Do the quest Sheep Shearer and the quest Goblin Diplomacy. Check out the quest guides to find out how.
Crafting Levels 4-38
Crafting Level 38-57
Make 4,672 leather coifs using the methods shown. It will cost 4,672gp to tan the coifs. It will be 187 trips which will cost 1,870 gp if you use the gate. It will also cost 941gp for the thread and 1gp for a needle. Overall this is 7670 gp. You can sell the coifs for 10gp so all of them you could sell for 46,720gp so your overall profit is 39,950 gp which maybe isn’t the biggest amount of profit but is definitely very quick.
Crafting Level 57-60
Make 1,137 Green Dragonhide vambraces. To make the vambraces you have to do what you do with leather apart from you have to kill a level 79 dragon in level 38 wilderness to obtain the dragon hide. You can also buy it for 1,600 gp each which is the safer easier and quicker option. Although the prices will vary depending who you buy them from, or if you use the grand exchange.
You need 1,137 hides which will cost from the tanner 22,740gp as all dragon hides cost 20gp each. If you are buying the hides at 1,600 each then it will cost you 1,819,200gp which isn’t that much to pay compared to the time needed to get the hides and the skill needed two (80+ combat required for killing 25 at a time with food).
You will need 228 pieces of thread from the crafting store which will cost you 228 gp. If you sell each for 2,500 gp you will get 2,842,500 gp so your overall profit is 1,000,331 gp (including the price of the tanner, the hides, the thread and one needle). The profit is very good since you are not that higher level.
Crafting Level 60-66
Now you make Green Dragonhide chaps, these give the same experience per hide as vambraces but the market price is higher (per hide) than both body and vambraces so you make a higher profit per hide – the price will fluctuate with the grand exchange and this is only a guide based on the price when the guide was written.
You need to make 1,795 chaps which will use 3,589 hides. The cost of tanning the hides will be 71,780. The cost, if you are buying the hides is 5,742,400 gp. The cost of the thread is 718gp and the cost of a needle is 1gp. Altogether, to buy, tan and construct each hide/chaps is 5,814,899 gp. If you sold then all the chaps at 5000 gp each then you would make 8,975,000 that altogether is a profit of 3,160,101 gp. Which is good money.
Crafting Level 66-73
Now you can make Blue Dragonhide vambraces, the profit on blue-dragon is bigger than green.
To kill a blue dragon you can go in Taverley dungeons or the Heroes Guild, they are level 111 and are easier to access than the green but the amount of hides needed is too high for you to be killing dragons for them as it would take to long.
The cost of a blue dragon hide is around 1800gp and you can sell the chaps at around 3000gp. You need to make 7,095 vambraces and they all take one blue dragon hide. The cost of buying the hides at 1800 each is 12,771,000 which is a lot of money and could buy an Easter egg or pumpkin, but it is worth it as you get your money back.
The cost of the thread is 1,419gp (1419 pieces of thread) and the cost of a needle is 1gp. The cost of having all the hides tanned is 141,900gp. Altogether it cost 12,914,320 gp and the profit if you sell them at 3000 gp each is 21,285,000gp which could buy a Santa hat.
Crafting Level 73-99
Now we are talking! This is the big time! You’re turning into a quality craftsman. To gain levels quick, the best thing to do is to make red Dragonhide vampraces. These only need 1 red dragon hide each and that can be bought for 2500 gp. You need to make 154,379 of these.
The cost of buying everyone is 385,947,500 but don’t worry even though that’s the biggest number you have ever seen on the guide so far, it would take a month to count to it. You also have to pay 3,087,580 to get the hides tanned and you have to pay 30,876gp go for the pieces of thread and 1gp for a needle.
Altogether you have to pay 389,065,957 (another big number – im scared) and if you sell the vambraces for 7,500 gp each then the money you get is 1,157,842,500 gp… that’s 1.1578425 billion.
(Sorry I just fainted!!! I have to finish the members guide now I’m in the people who have just fainted ward of the hospital!!!). There are other runescape crafting tips available that people may want to use to be able to find their own method of training crafting in the game.
