Motorstorm Pacific Rift: The Three Middleweight Vehicles

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift was a highly anticipated game for Playstation three owners. Here’s the lowdown on three more vehicles.

If you haven’t read my first guide, Motorstorm Pacific Rift: The Two Lightweight Vehicles, you might want to check that out now for the lowdown on how to get the first vehicle weight trophy, the Lightweight Trophy. Like the Lightweight Trophy, a player needs 50 wins in middleweight vehicles to win the Middleweight Trophy. The key to winning races in middleweight vehicles is to make sure you pick the right vehicle for the right race or challenge. Hopefully this guide will help you to win every race that you enter.

Buggy

The buggy is the lightest of the 3 middleweight vehicles. The buggy is reasonably quick, but lacks terrain handling. The buggy is also very vulnerable to attack from bigger vehicles, and isn’t quite strong enough to dominate the lighter vehicles. The buggy does not cope well in water, so it is critical to ensure that you take the high and dry roads as often as possible. If in doubt, you should always drive and compete conservatively when using the buggy.

Rally Car

The rally car is probably the quickest vehicle in Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, but it lacks terrain handling on wet/muddy surfaces. On flat, hard, dry surfaces, the rally car is practically invincible, but that fades quickly on harder terrains. If you’re driving a rally car, steer clear of water unless it is very shallow. Also keep clear of heavier vehicles, particularly big rigs and monster trucks. Also, if you compete with bikes and ATVs, it is possible to flip over them as you destroy them. Rally cars are fragile, so play safe when you’re driving them. Also, watch out for flipping over on tight corners. Slowing down is critical on cornering.

Racing Truck

The racing truck is a great vehicle for general all-round ability. If you’re looking for a reasonably safe vehicle, the racing truck is the way to go. This vehicle is fairly quick, and is very good at cornering. It can also power through water reasonably comfortably. It’s very strong against bikes, ATVs, buggies, rally cars and also the lightest heavyweight vehicle, the mudplugger. Steer clear of mud where possible and avoid driving uphill too. Also make sure that you don’t try to enter any tunnels that you can’t fit into properly. Try and avoid tangling with big rigs and monster trucks.
