Single Player Shi No Numa Strategy

Ever wondered how people get to level 50+, 100+, or even 1000 in Call of Duty Nazi Zombies? It’s not a mod, or lie. There is an actual strategy for getting this high. Here’s what you do.

Initial Levels 1-4

When you start out in the first room, stay there for 3-4 levels.  Buy either the arisaka or the gewehr, and stick close to one window.  I recommend that you stay next to the window near the door, not near the stairs.  After level 3, and definitely by the end of level 4, open the door, not the stairs.  After this, run downstairs near the random box.  Buy a Thompson (I prefer it because it is really accurate at long range if you burst fire, does pretty good damage, and reloads ridiculously fast), and then buy bouncing betties if you have enough money.  If not, just wait until later rounds.  Also getting a trench gun for dogs is a good idea.

Middle Levels 4-10  (The most important rounds)

During these levels you will be camping under the stairs, next to the comm room.

For normal, non-dog levels, stand in the doorway, with the random box to your left.  If you have bouncing betties, put down one right at your feet and one inside the stairs-room, right next to the comm room door (for all door names and locations, see map above).  For the majority of your next few levels you will be standing here, covering straight ahead, left, and right.

Remembering to cover left and right can be hard, so that’s why you put a bouncing betty at your feet to cover yourself.  For these rounds you will want a good sub-machine gun with good power and quick reload times.  Type 100’s and Thompsons are good for this.  Don’t forget to keep placing bouncing betties down each round!  Also, keep checking the random box to try to get a Wunderwaffe (the long electric looking gun).  This gun is crucial to getting to higher levels.  When it does pop up, trade your shotgun in for it – you can always buy another later.

For dog levels, when you hear the sounds and see the smoke (dog levels start at level 5 or 6 and keep returning every 2-3 rounds), start putting down your bouncing betties in the room that the random box is in.  Retreat back into the room under the stairs, next to the comm room.  By this point you should have a trench gun.  Pull that out, let your bouncing betties take care of some of the dogs, and kill the rest.  Any time during the dog round you aren’t immediately pressured by dogs, start reloading.  Reloading is interruptible and doesn’t take much time if you are only reloading one bullet.

Levels 7-10 (Most Important Step)

Try to buy as little as possible, as you will be trying to get all the perks later on.  Once you have the wunderwaffe and a lot of money (you can do this on any level past 7), make a crawler by throwing a grenade at one of the last zombie alive for the level.  It should blow off his legs, making him very slow.  Kill any remaining zombies.  (Note, by these levels the maximum number of zombies should spawn.  In one-player mode, only 24 zombies spawn per level, no matter how high the level gets).

Once you have done this, run out to the doctors quarters door and open it.  Upon opening the door 3 zombies will automatically spawn, so make sure you kill them!  Proceed to the perks-a-cola machine.  If it is juggernaug or slight of hand, get it.  If it is double tap or quick revive, don’t get it.  Double tap is nice for crowds of zombies, but at the higher levels they have a ridiculous amount of health and you also won’t be using a machine gun.  Next proceed to the fishing hut door and open that, kill the 3 zombies that spawn, and get the perk from the perks-a-cola machine there.

If you now have both juggernaug and slight of hand, great!  If not, and if juggernaug or slight of hand are, by the process of elimination, in the storage hut, then open the door to get it.  If neither one is there, make sure you have enough money to get through the doors and also get the perk in the comm room.  Proceed to the comm room door and open that, kill the 3 zombies that spawn, and look for the needed perk.  If you do not have enough money to get the perk and open all the doors to get there, then don’t open the comm room.  Just go another round to build up your money to try again.    Be warned!  Once you open the comm room door you need to proceed to the last stage of this guide because there is no safe spot for you to camp against zombies!

Try to do all this by at least level 11 or 12.  After these levels it gets extremely difficult to stay alive.  Just remember the three items you need by this point:  Juggernaug, slight of hand, and the Wunderwaffe (and a weapon of choice for killing zombies).

Levels 10+

After you have juggernaug, slight of hand, and the wunderwaffe, buy a trench gun.  You will only be using the wunderwaffe to kill zombies from now on, the trench gun is just for the dogs (which don’t have increasing health like the zombies).  Open the comm room door, if you haven’t already.  This should be at the start of a level (or on the level you make a crawler), not a dog level.  Once you do this, you have two strategies to use, one for zombie levels, one for dog levels:

Zombie level strategy (You will be running in a big circle the entire time).  Start out on this level by taking a right down the wooden pier.  Do not shoot any zombies yet, just run away from them and let them follow you!  At the end of the pier you will see a small shack ahead of you and some swamp in between you and the shack.  Jump all the way to the right, as close to the fence as you can get.  You will land on firm ground and won’t be slowed down by the swamp.  Continue running into the shack that I just mentioned.  It has two exits, one straight ahead and one to your left.  Take the left exit (You could also run around the outside of the shack as it has some wooden platforms surrounding it).  Keep following the wooden pier you are on until you get to another shack.  This one has only one exit- one to your left (It may have another exit, I could be wrong).  Take it, and you will find yourself looking at the main building.  Since this is your first time going around the circle, there will be zombies ahead of you.  Don’t worry!  You have two choices – either dodge them if there aren’t many of them (2-3) or shoot them with the Wunderwaffe (only if there are 4 or more!).  Keep running, and take a left onto the wooden pier you first started out on.  By now most of the zombies should be following you.

You should now be running on the same initial wooden pier that you first started out on.  Keep going around the circle until you get to the second shack, the one that I think has only one exit.  Go through again – once again you should be looking back at the main building – and turn around.  The zombies should run single file through the shack door.  Hit the first zombies with your wunderwaffe.  The wunderwaffe is an instant kill on up to ten zombies.  Keep backing up, or turn around and run into the main building.  Stop in the entrance (the entrance to the room under the stairs), and turn around and hit them again.  If there are a few left, run a litte farther backwards and hit the last few.  Remember, only 24 zombies will spawn, so that is a maximum 3 shots needed with the wunderwaffe.

Dog level strategy  After each zombie round, run back into the main building and into the room that has the storage hut door (only has one window).  The room has a kind of barrier sectioning off one part of the room right next to the door.  After each zombie round, run into this room and plant bouncing betties where zombies are not likely to run (NOTE:  If you have opened the storage hut door, you need to think how zombies will run through the room and respond accordingly).  Once the dog level comes, run into the sectioned off corner and sit with your back against the corner.  Put down your last betties (always put one down at your feet) and wait.  The dogs will never spawn more than 2 at a time.  Like previous dog levels, just sit there with your trench gun, let your betties kill the initial dogs, and blast away at the rest.  (Slight of hand makes reloading your trench gun tremendously faster).  Since the dogs’ health never increases, I’ve found the trench gun works fairly well against them (since it’s a one-hit kill), but you are free to use your preferred weapon.  After the dog levels, put down your bouncing betties and start running the circle again in the comm room area!

I hope this has helped.  I’ve personally gotten up to level 52, but got kinda bored after a while.  Getting set up and all the perks is the fun part.  Eventually, once you get it down, this strategy makes Shi No Numa ridiculously easy, and therefore boring (in my opinion, you are entitled to your own opinion).
