Beating The Blister Blues

An affordable tip for avoiding blisters.

Blisters are the bane of many a walker and runner’s life.  Wearing correctly fitting shoes and socks is only half the battle.  Warmer weather and increased exercise causes feet to swell.  Runners know that tying their laces too tightly before warming up is lethal, but what else can you do?

Massaging your feet with a lubricant is one way to beat the blister.  Just a small amount will prevent friction and allow your feet to move comfortably as you exercise.

Take care not apply too much, as that can also cause problems.

Sports shops stock a wide range of expensive creams and all do a fine job, but for those on a tighter budget, petroleum jelly does just as good a job and for a fraction of the price.

Happy feet are blister-free feet!
