Fifa 09 DS

This review is about Fifa 09 that came out a few weeks ago. Now this game is basically the same as Fifa 08 for the DS except for the fact they have added Be a Pro mode and in manager mode where you can actually transfer other players to your team. It’s almost real in the sense that some players don’t want to come because they think they are not going to get a lot of playing time and some players you just can’t afford. The only thing I didn’t like about that feature was that sometimes even good players don’t want to come to your bad team saying they are not going to get a lot of playing time.

I really liked the ability to play as one person through the whole game in Pro mode because it feels more real seeing how you have to work with your team to get possession and score a goal. The AI in the game is also smarter from last year’s version, especially the goalie that will actually go for the ball if it is in the box. The defensive aspect of the game is a little lame because no matter what tactics you use, your whole team (including the strikers) will try and defend and your defenders are just standing there. This is a real problem because it makes launching a counter-attack nearly impossible since almost your whole team is defending. The online play is also not bad but I haven’t really tried it so far.

Pros: Improved manager mode, Be a Pro mode fun, AI is smarter.

Cons: Can’t really counter attack, some referee decisions are very harsh
