How to Catch Moltres in Soul Silver

Now, to catch Moltres, or any of the legendary birds from Kanto, you must have all 16 badges.

Now, you will want pokemon that have:

Rock Climb HM

Surf HM

Waterfall HM

Thunder Wave

Sandstorm, Whirlpool, False Swipe, or other damaging moves.

You will also want:

Dusk Balls (20-30)

Ultra Balls (30)

Escape Rope

Repel (optional)

Ok, in this game, Moltres is in Mt.Silver. The way to get there is by starting at the Pokemon League. Go west from there and stop to heal at the Pokemon Center. From there, go into the cave. Go up the waterfall to your left. Then enter the entrance to the upper right. Go straight and you will see Moltres down beneath two Rock Climb ledges. Go down there and battle Moltres.

From the start you will want to paralyze Moltres. Then, you need to lower it’s health into the red. Use Dusk Balls since Moltres is in a cave, it will be even stronger than an Ultra Ball. Just in case you run out of Dusk Balls, bring some Ultra Balls too.
