How to Increase Fps in Cs 1.6 (Frame’s-per-second)
In this I guide will show you how to increase your FPS (frames-per-second).You will find useful programs, and tips that improves your CS 1.6 (Counter-Strike 1.6) performance.
The first step that will increase your FPS is updating your Graphic’s Drivers.
If you use NVIDIA graphic’s card. Then you should go to “www.nvidia.com“ and find latest driver for your graphic’s card series(the latest driver’s was 257.21 that “supports GeForce 6, 7, 8, 9, 100, 200, 300, and 400-series desktop GPUs as well as ION desktop GPUs.”).If you use ATI then “http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.HTML“.
I recommend using TWEAKED drivers for performance like Xtreme-G Tweaked Drivers by www.tweakforce.com.
Second step should be to customise your NVIDIA settings for that Application/Game.
You just go to your DESKTOP and press Mouse2 button (By default: the one on the right [on your mouse]).Then you go to NVIDIA Control Panel » Manage 3D Settings » Global Settings and use these settings:
• Anisotropic filtering: Off
• Antialiasing – Gamma Correction: Off
• Antialiasing – Mode: Off
• Antialiasing – Setting: None
• Antialiasing – Transparency: Multisampling
• CUDA – GPU’s: All
• Extension limit: On
• Maximum Pre-Rendered Frames: 8
• Multi-Display/mixed GPU-acceleration: Single displayer performance mode
• Texture filtering: Negative LOD Bias: Allow
• Texture filtering: Quality: High Performance
• Threaded Optimization: Auto
• Triple Buffering: Off
• Vertical Sync: Off
These are the settings that I personally use. Feel free to customise it as you like (If you know what your doing) By the way, If you didn’t understand what I wrote here. Then use this VIDEO Clip »
Third step is to download aTuner program to customise 3D settings (You knew that CS 1.6 uses OpenGL and Direct3D right?)
You can download aTuner from here » http://www.guru3d.com/atuner/. After you downloaded aTuner download this file » http://uppit.com/ictsjgsz731z/Max_Performance.atpr. After you downloaded this “Max Performance tweak” double-click it and you will have all your settings set to Max Performance
Still not enough eh? then use these config’s for FPS
» Regeneration’s Counter-Strike Condition Zero Config (works for CZ and CS 1.6)
Feel free to try them all
Ok after this you should get 99+ FPS, if not use this High FPS Pack that I made
In this High FPS Pack you will find:
• Black Sky
• No Smoke
• No Hands Models
• High FPS Player Models
• High VGUI Models
• Transparent ScoreBoard
P.S Copy everything to ValveCstrike folder!
This pack that I’ve created gaved me almost constant 99 FPS!

But wait, I still got 1 tweak left that boost’s your FPS! and here it is:
Right click on your CS 1.6 shortcut » Properties and where is “Target:” add these Launch parameter’s
-freq 100 » Force CS 1.6 to use 100 Hz refresh rate (really useful)
-w 800 -h 600 » -w Width -h Height (800×600)
-16bpp » Force CS 1.6 to use 16 Bit colors (See thru smoke’s lol)
-gl » Force Cs 1.6 to use OpenGL mode
-window » Start’s CS 1.6 in windowed mode.
-demoedit » Enables some good DEMO features like Campath (Good for editing, moviemaking)
-heapsize 524288 » means allocate 512MB of RAM for the game, reducing in-game pauses.
• 512MB System Memory -heapsize 262144
• 1GB System Memory -heapsize 524288
• 2GB System Memory -heapsize 1048576
-noipx » This gives more ram
-nojoy » Disable joystick (gives more ram too)
-dxlevel 70 » Force CS 1.6 to use DirectX 7
-noforcemaccel -noforcemparms-noforcemaccel » Disable mouse acceleration.
-dev » Enables developer, removes 100 FPS limit.
That’s all Folks! Hope this guide helped and you understanded everything
