Is This Really a Convenience?

The last few years I’ve been told what wondrous devices these damned things(computers)are.I suppose,if you have been bought up with them.I,on the other hand do good if I can get my PlayStation to work.When perchance I actually get a full-blown computer to perform its’ designed function I’m usually so amazed that I can’t remember what the hell it was I did,so I can replicate it.

Just this morning I was attempting to get on the one at Texas work force solutions.All I succeeded in  doing was locking myself out of the s.o.b. again.Which wouldn’t be so bad except the password I was using was the right one,and so was the answer to the security question.So now I have to wait until I can get to thier office again to reset the s.o.b.!

I mean you can do every thing right and still be wrong on one of these things.It’s not like on Star-Trek where you can talk to them & they talk back.For instance on the job search when I input Floorhand/oilfield it says there’s no such thing.Having done the job for several years I beg to differ,the same with motorman.After all not everyone is (or should be)a Driller,or tool-pusher.That is unless you’re from Texas and think it somehow is hereditary,or worse you are from Texas and have a College degree.In which caase not only are you apt to go do stupid shit the Company will,in all probability,back you up.While the Rig melts into a slagheap,and the Hands who told you not to do that die a fiery death,they will pat you on your pointed little head and send you forth to do more.

But enough of that.I am told that I could take courses which would be fine,if not for the fifteen mile walk I would also have too take(More like thirty).And frankly I like the old days when if it didn’t work you got a bigger hammer!Unfortunately they frown on you doing that with public property.

They are going to be the downfall of western civilization.Our kids today already can’t read or know any history.Yet they know when the latest iPod,or iPhone is coming out.More the easier to pester thier parents on getting them one.People are more worried about what is happening on the Web than what is going on in their own neighborhoods.We hear how dangerous it is to talk or text while driving,yet at least in Texas,the Police are the worst at using their cell-phones while driving.It’s almost as if that Badge does the driving for them.Too bad it doesn’t keep a better eye on the road.I’m sure it’s standing orders for their Brother-Officers,when showing up at an Officer-involved accident to throw that damned Phone away!
