Step 1- The first thing you need to do is find a nice big tree and chop it down. You can hold down the clicking button instead of letting go and clicking again. It will make things go much faster!!
Step 2- The second thing you need to do is press E. This will bring up your inventory. Your blocks will be in your inventory. Put the block in the crafting part of your inventory. 4 wooden planks will show up for each block of wood that you have. Click on the planks until you are out of wood and are left with just planks. Then put one plank in each open block in your crafting section and you will get a crafting table. You need this to make anything worth while in Minecraft!

Make the house big enough so its not uncomfortable. Make your house about 5 levels high. You will want to leave a gap for a door 1 square wide and two squares tall. Your house will protect you from monsters at night. Without it you will be dying allot so you kind of need it. MAKE SURE YOU BUILD THIS BY YOUR SPAWN POINT!!
Step 6- Now make a furnace. You need this to make iron tools and higher. Right click on your crafting table. Then put a block of stone on every block except the middle one. Now you have a furnace! Put this down is your house somewhere. You can also make glass with this.
