Runes Of Magic

This game is an MMORPG, and is rather similar to World Of Warcraft. In fact, among many gamers, it is known as a WoW clone. However, there are many distinguishing features that make it an original game, such as having a personal house, and a dual-class system [this allows you to be two different classes, as the name suggests]. The fact that it has the same graphics as WoW and many of its positive aspects doesn’t hurt either.

The reason why I put it so low on the chart is because it is P2W (Pay To Win). By the time you get to a high level, it is almost impossible to have a fun time without using real money.

Alliance OF Valiant Arms

Alliance Of Valiant Arms is an MMOFPS set in a fictional Europe where the European Union and Neo Russian Federation are fighting for dominance. It is set in the modern day, and uses real weapons for the most part, although some [real-money required] weapons are completely fictional.

This game is quite nice in the fact that it has very good graphics [it runs on Unreal Engine 3], and almost limitless numbers of guns and customizations. Plus, there are many different game modes, and an awesome community!

APB Reloaded

If you liked Grand Theft Auto, this game is for you. With a large city, endless amounts of cars, civilians, and other things to kill and destroy, it’s a serial killer’s dream come true. In my opinion, there is nothing quite like sitting in a giant truck going at max speed and completely destroying/smashing/flipping over any cars or people in the way. After all, just pure unadulterated violence can be quite fun!

There are some problems, though. For one, until you get to max notoriety (similar to 6/6 stars in GTA), you cannot kill/harm players or their cars in any way. In addition, the game is run on a P2W model, so that people who pay have a gigantic advantage. However, if you just want to relive some old GTA memories, this is the game for you.

Free Realms

Now, this is where most readers will go and facedesk. However, as we all know, many of the free MMO gamers are really kids who don’t have the money/don’t want to pay to play games. As a result, a more light-hearted game needs to be included in this list for them as well. 

Even though it is designed toward a younger audience, older gamers can have fun with it as well! After all, who wouldn’t want to have a pet unicorn and not listen to ragey CoD gamers screaming obscenity into their poor-quality mikes!

Tribes: Ascend

Once again, many readers may feel let down by the fact that I have an MMOFPS as my #1 game. However, this game is revolutionary in many ways in the F2P game area.

For instance, this F2P game is one of the few games that is not solely a P2W model. For almost every weapon in the game, there is some [not impossibly hard] way to earn/buy it with in game money /achievements. As a result, you do not have to pay real money in order to excel in the game.

In addition, this game is one of the few that I have found use jetpacks/skis/other ways of moving to great effect! Indeed, jetpacks are an integral part of combat in Tribes. This makes the game environment 3D, instead of the 2D that most gamers usually play in. As a result, this game can even aid your body in real life by enchancing your eye-hand coordination skills! (Another argument to tell your parents if you are a teen gamer)
