Tactics and Strategies for Quantum of Solace
My tactics and strategies for Quantum of Solace, the video game.
I got the game Quantum of Solace for Playstation 3 about two weeks ago. I purchased it off EBay for €15.00. This is a game I really had been looking forward to playing. I had intended to buy it when it was launched, but I was too short of money at the time. Then, when I had the money, I had forgotten about the game. When I looked for it later, I decided to wait until I found a cheap pre-owned copy. Now that I’ve finally gotten my hands on the game, I feel I can give all players a few tips for the game.
Use Cover
In a lot of games, cover isn’t all that important. It’s great for a few minutes, but then you get bored of taking cover while fighting. In Quantum of Solace, cover is critical to your success, especially on harder levels. While in cover you will regain your health faster and will also be protected from enemy fire. It gives you a chance to figure out where all your opponents are before you engage them. It also allows you to use one of the game’s most powerful fighting techniques, blind fire.
Blind Fire
In Quantum of Solace, you are James Bond. Like any Bond movie, you are a master with all guns. This means that your blind fire is fairly accurate. It’s not perfect, but it’s more than you could ever realistically ask for in real life. Blind fire is particularly useful with machine guns. You can fire off enough shots to take an enemy or two down, while also remaining relatively safe behind cover. You do have to watch out for recoil though, as it can ruin your aim and lead to a massive waste of ammunition.
Stealth
The stealth mechanic in Quantum of Solace is probably the most crucial element of the game to master. Many of the levels in Quantum of Solace (Miami Airport comes to mind) are the ultimate arenas for stealth. In Miami Airport, you can get most of the way through the mission without having to resort to a major shootout if you avoid being seen by enemies or hostile cameras. This allows you to conserve your ammo for the big gunfights and makes it easier to make it through the level unscathed. Playing the game as a stealth Bond is also quite enjoyable, as you feel more like the real James Bond.
