The Best Gaming Systems Ever

It’s my opinion…. and it’s the truth.

I didn’t rate these systems by number of features, how fancy the controllers were, or whether or not you could play games in high-def.  I rated them by the quality of the pure fun and unique entertainment that they’ve given me.

5.     First off, the Xbox 360…  It is without a doubt one of the most advanced gaming consoles ever.  I really enjoy being able to play other games than my friends and still talk with them using the party system.  You can use it as a jukebox, or a DVD player.  Downloading various videos and demos is always a must in these modern times, and of course you’ll always find new features with your Xbox 360.  The Xbox 360 has, without a doubt, the best multiplayer gaming of any game console I’ve ever played.  My absolute favorite games include:

-Call of Duty 2/4/5

-Halo 3 (on occasion)

-GTA 4

-Rockband 2

-Left 4 Dead

-Rainbow Six Vegas 1/2

4.     Then of course we go back to where the first games originated… PC!  Some of the greatest games ever made, I’m glad to have played on the computer.  Just buying and playing the game just doesn’t stop there, with computers you can easily find mods for virtually any game out there.  Multiplayer is always fun, but only if you have a good connection with other players.  One major downfall is the extra cash you’ll have to spend on upgrading you PC once a new game comes out.  Nonetheless, Some of my first favorites have been played on computer:

-Spiderman (DOS of course)

-Tunnels (DOS as well)

-DOOM 1 AND 2 ARE PROBABLY THE BEST SHOOTERS EVER CREATED BY ANY BRILLIANT MIND

-Doom 3

-Hidden and Dangerous 2

-Age of Empires 2/3 (BEST RTS)

-Battlefield 2 (awesome, but I could never play this on my computer, only on top class PCs)

-Wolfenstein (the original)

-Asteroids, Battlezone, Centipede, Missile Command

3.     PlayStation 2, just simply awesome…  It’s one of those consoles that you spend all those nights up late playing online games.  It has simple features such as being able to play music and DVDs, but the real fun comes from the games.  Not much to say ’bout the PS2, except for it’s amazing games:

-Star Wars Battlefront 1/2

-ATV Offroad Fury

-Dynasty Warriors 3/4

-Namco Museum (gotta love those classics)

-Need For Speed: Hot Persuit

…. it’s kinda hard to recall, since I have like 40 games for it, but you get the point.

2.     One of the more legendary systems, the Nintendo 64…  Yes, that console that introduced the wonderful world of, at the time of it’s release, the most realistic graphics ever.  But It truly has left a trail of awesomeness in history.  The N64 has some of the best co-op out there, and it has to, since this was before you could go online with consoles.  I’ve always liked those weird, three-pronged controllers.  But as I said, I’m only rating these one just the pure entertainment I’ve gotten by playing them.  So here the the classics:

Just put an “(amazingly awesome)” next to each of these…

-Super Smash Bros. (words can’t express)

-The Legend of Zelda (Ocarina, and Majora’s Mask)

-The original Mario Party

-Mario Kart 64

-Super Mario 64 (god…. so many hours………)

-Turok: Rage Wars (awesome, awesome x4 with 4 players)

Numero Uno…     I have to say, that the SEGA GENESIS is the best gaming console I have ever played.  Of course it doesn’t compete with the Xbox 360 or PS3, but if it came through time and became modern with the same amount of awesomeness as it had back then… I would own nothing else, plus only 2 controller jacks is more badass than 4.  Lets just cut to the chase:

-Sonic 1/2/3 (3 IS the best co-op game ever made)

-Altered Beasts (despite only getting halfway through level 4 (it’s HARD) this is still an amazing co-op or single player)

-Vector Man

-Sub Terrania (creepy as hell though…)

-Desert/Jungle Strike

-ESWAT: City Under Siege (robocop just doesn’t compare)

-Ecco the Dolphin

-Pretty much any football game

-Power Rangers

-Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters

-Road Rash 1/2

Alright so there you have it, but there are some other awesome consoles I have to mention.  As you noticed, I left out handheld gaming devices.  I would put them in their own category, but the gameboy would just destroy everything else so I decided not to do that.  We can all remember those endless nights of playing Pokemon.  But yes, the PSP is pretty friggin’ awesome as well.  So here are a few other consoles that deserve mention… I’ve never owned them, but they were quite fun when I played them:

-PlayStation 3 (Dead Space is SUCH a good game… I’ve only played it for PS3)

-PSX

-Gameboy (doesn’t matter which one, they’re all awesome)

-PSP

-Nintendo Gamecube

There’s my final word on the best gaming consoles of all time………..
