Three Reasons Why The League of Legends Community Sucks So Bad

Yeah, I talking to your League of Legends players. You guys are horrible!

The popular online video game, League of Legends, has to be one of the greatest creations ever made. I personally enjoy at least two hours of League of Legends rounds every day. I have mastered every role – carry, tank, assassin, jungler, you name it, I’m great at it. The game is fun, exciting, and is one of the most unique games out there. Best yet – it’s led by a team of AMERICANS, so you’re not going to get faulty translation errors signature of a lot of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean online games.

So why do I hate it so much?

Why?

WHY?

The Community, that’s why. League of Legends has the absolute worst community in all MMOs out there (that I’ve played so far. And trust me: I’ve played tons). How can something so great be coupled with something so terrible? Well, there are reasons out there. Three personal reasons, to be exact.

1. Too Much Cooperation is Needed to Win a Game

Unlike World of Warcraft, FlyFF, Guild Wars, and all the other MMORPGs/MMOs out there, League of Legends requires a TON of cooperation from your teammates in order to make the game remotely fun. That means coordinating for ganks, kills, assists, you name it.

So what happens if someone sucks? Well, in traditional MMOs, it’s not a big deal. You’re building from the ground up for your character’s growth and personal enrichment, so who cares if the person next door sucks major ones, right? In League of Legends, if you suck, then your whole team will suffer. No wonder the whole community has their panties in knots!

2. Post-Game Community is almost Non-Existent

In a lot of MMOs, you, the player, will build ties with Guild mates, online friends, and even form Shopper-Seller relationships in the community. Your reputation is an integral part of your character’s success. If you have a bad reputation, no one will want to associate with you. And who wants to play an MMO in Single mode, right?

On the other hand, once a League of Legends game is over, you’re done. Odds of you meeting up with that person (or persons, if you manage to piss off a whole team) is extremely slim. Who cares if you mouth off this team, or feed intentionally, right? It’s not like you have to suffer the company of these people. Go ahead and Troll and give yourself a few laughs.

3. Punishments are extremely Lenient

Apart from Hacker cases, punishments on League of Legends are lenient. If you cuss up a storm, odds are the reports filed against you will be for naught. In fact, League of Legends have a punish-pardon system RUN BY THE PLAYERS. Talk about inefficient!

Even a person who leaves games constantly only get one day-two day bans. After that, they can troll on leave more games if their mommy calls them for dinner.

And let’s say you get banned from the game. In Traditional MMOs, that is a HUGE slap in the face. Hours and hours spent on your character down in the drain? No wonder people (and friends of those people) are filing virtual lawsuits against having their prized accounts banned.

Banned on League of Legends? LOL (pun intended), just create a new account and enjoy playing another round of League of Legends. The fun never ends.

SO THERE YOU HAVE IT

3 Reasons why the community sucks.

The game is still damn fun tho. I RECOMMEND.

The community is bad yes, but most of the ranting is way off base. The tribunal is actually very effective and most cases are looked over by the staff. Many players invest hours and money in their LoL accounts too so getting banned is a big deal when you unlock most characters and skins and runes. Basically you’re bitching like a little nooblord. Learn to play

i dont meant to sound like a fanboy but
    1. how are you going to compare a moba to a MMO, it\’s not a MMO, that\’s like comparing counterstrike to mario, and just because you can\’t run around by yourself like in Call of duty doesn\’t mean its a bad thing that you have to play as a team. Basically, you\’re comparing two different genres to prove a point. Which is basically the same thing as criticizing a horror movie for not having comedy in it, and then referencing a comedy as an example.

    2. You can add people you think are good and make ranked teams with them. Teams can participate in tournaments among other things and the top tier teams are well known for each of their member\’s \”reputations\”, for example Darius is known for bringing his pillow to LAN events, etc. And again, you\’re comparing a MOBA to a MMO, you might as well say you don\’t like mario because you can\’t shoot people.

    3. I somewhat agree however the punishment for leaving is only leniant the first time around. the second time the ban lasts for months and I\’m pretty sure its a permaban the 3rd time around. And remaking accounts isn\’t a fair arguement because you could do that in any game :/

The same sort of thing happens in online chess. The incivility and rudeness are related to the anonymity.

  9. You're an idiot

    You’re an idiot.
    There are several reasons why.
League of legends is not a unique game.
It’s a replica of the game Defense of the Ancients (DotA).
It’s in the moba genre therefore you certainly need to work with teams, a thing most people in LoL will never understand.
The community sucks so much because it’s filled with kids who think they’re the shit at a LoL game if they have good kill death ratios.
Next time you rant on a game, do some fucking research.

The League of Legends community definitely isn’t the best.
