Top 10 Mafia Wars Tips: Some Unsolicited Advices
Mafia wars have become a phenomenon nowadays. Yes it is a guilty pleasure and a time consuming one too. But it has also forced me to expand my social network just to be stronger in the game. I am sharing a few tips here that I have learned by playing it.
Why the hell do I like Mafia Wars? Because it lets me do something that I can never do in my real life. That is exactly why millions of people flock Facebook, MySpace and other such networking sites that host this game. In fact it is very tempting to delve deeper into the facet of human psyche that is always attracted towards virtual crime. But I will restrain myself from playing Freud and will restrict myself to simply sharing a few tricks that I have realized over past couple months by incessantly playing mafia wars. I also want to share a few Cuba specific tips that have helped me with my jobs in the island nation. Here they go,
Use your Mafia Wars Energy Packs to the fullest. Initially I was foolish enough to use them carelessly. Always refill only when you are totally empty. It gives 25% more of your total capacity. So you would waste it if you use it when you are still having some energy left.
If you have excess energy i.e more than necessary to reach the next level when you will get a refill anyway, then do the jobs that cost more energy and offer comparatively less experience points to use them more effectively.
Use you mafia wars daily lotto lottery tickets wisely. Don’t forget to enter a ticket everyday. Yes it is almost impossible to win big prizes with more than one matching numbers. I have never been that lucky. But even if you get one matching number per ticket, you get one useful item for collections. Make sure that you select different numbers each and every time in a particular week.
Let me explain it. There are numbers from 1-70. If you get 7 tickets in a week, you can choose 5X7=35 numbers. So make sure that you choose 35 unique numbers in a week. If you repeat a number you simply reduce you probability of winning a free gift. These are always useful even if you have vaulted the collections as nowadays you can win special mafia wars boosts by re vaulting them.
Never use mafia wars godfather points for health, energy or stamina refills. GF points are hard to come by, you get one in every two levels, so don’t waste it on something that you will get back anyways. Yes in the initial levels when energy is low, you might get an energy refill, but once you are advanced enough, there is no need to do it at all. Save it for better occasions.
Unknown Crates= Proof of Murphy’s Law
I tried it once. I wasted some 25 GF points earned over two weeks on it and all I got was a useless gun without much attack or defense points. I don’t know if others have been luckier, I don’t really think it is a good idea. A much better option is to buy computer setups, untraceable cellphones or blackmail photos etc. which are occasionally offered for mafia wars godfather points. It is better than draining energy to earn those unpredictable loots.
Never hesitate to ask for help during mafia wars jobs, whenever you get to see that option. It often gives you more money and experience that what you usually get by doing the job once. Especially in the higher mafia wars job tiers, the rewards are pretty high.
It is needless to say that in mafia wars, bigger is better. Add people, send invitations, do whatever you can, but increase your mafia size. With a small mafia you can’t attack the really big ones and nor can you defend their attacks. The worst possible scenario is getting snuffed in fight repeatedly and losing 6 valuable experience points.
Be shameless in using the wish-list. Sometimes you get stuck with certain items and your friends can help them out. For example I needed four armored cars for one job. But despite repeatedly doing the job that was supposed to contain this loot, I was not getting the fourth one. Finally I put it in the wish-list and got it within minutes. But in any case, don’t forget to return the favor when you get a chance. That is how it works.
Now let me share some Cuba specific mafia wars tips.
I personally think, the best use of GF points in mafia wars is in buying Cuban Pesos in mafia wars. Money is very difficult to come by in Cuba and the items are really expensive. Moreover you lose most of your money in jobs as bribe penalties. The Pesos offered by GF keeps increasing with every level. Once it reaches a decent amount, you can get it with your mafia wars godfather points and quickly do pending things like buying or upgrading new businesses and purchasing inventory.
Put all the Pesos in bank before you leave the game everyday. Yes you lose 10% of it. But the rest remains safe. In New York you can easily earn bank the money even if you are robbed or attacked. It is not so easy in Cuba.
Finally, a tricky thing, avoid unnecessary business upgrades in the initial stages. Let me elaborate. There are some costly upgrades to increase your daily production capacity. But if you play daily i.e. you don’t have a gap of more than 24 hours, then capacity is hardly a bottleneck. You can sell them even before the capacity is full. Cuban Pesos are difficult to earn so don’t use them in useless upgrades. You can do them once you are done with the rest.
I know everyone might not agree with all the points mentioned above. Everyone has a different learning curve. But whatever it is, you have to agree that Mafia Wars is a happy hunting ground for the ones who can’t even kill a fly in real life. Now we can also fight and feel at par with the Al Capones & John Dilingers. This is my tribute to this great “leveler”.
