Tradewar Vets: Planet Building

The different kinds of planets and how to build them.

I know this will provoke debate, but my view of planets is; Blow the Ice Palace, Gas Bag and Wasteland without a thought, hold a Volcanic, don’t build an Oceanic. BUT Build your Earth type FIRST.

These are my reasons…

  1. The majority of players worship at the Mountainous planet hence are not going to waste time capturing an Earth type.
  2. It takes a lot of colonists, yes, but you want to have googals of colonists by midgame anyway.
  3. It builds Equipment the fastest.
  4. It is useful as a Travelling Supermarket Hence, build it to Cit 3 level BEFORE starting your Mountainous.

When you’re ready to start your Mountainous make trips to Terra to get the Colos, but dump them in Equipment on your Earth Type until you have your number. Then, move them to the Mountainous, put
them in fuel, carry the commodities, then click.

While in the one day it takes to build, ferry colos. But dump them on the Earth Type in equip. Yeah, toss
a few loads in fuel on the Mountainous, but you need the equip and you don’t want to buy it.

In early game you’re using your credits for a new ship, holds, shields. You don’t want to spend anything
you don’t have to on commodities to build. So, getting your colos to create them saves turns and cash.

With your last turns, carry commodities from the Earth to the Mountainous, and then colos. But your (M) is
the focus until it has the Q cannon.
 Once it has the Q cannon and lots of Equipment, you now start on the (L).

The cannon on the Earth Type is set to Sector level and is there to protect the (L).

You know what happens when your first Gen gets an (L), and you race to Terra to get cols and come back
 to see someone has captured your sector.

 That same player, seeing an (M) is pretty likely to leave it, thinking…
“(M) are crap!”
and not bother to capture it.

As the cit on the (L) is building, and you’ve dumped goods and lastly colos, so as it is done, you move to
 Level 2. When you have Zero turns left, you can still land and take colos and dump them on the your
Mountainous at least once.

 When the (L) reaches Q cannon, and you’ve just pressed (C) (U) (Y) to go to Level 4, begin on your
Volcanic by ferrying Goods from the M. When you’ve fulfilled the requirements, move the cols. Remember,
Volcs eat cols. Filling the Volc with goods before ferrying, and packing them all in fuel is how you do it.

 Don’t ever stop taking cols from Terra. This is to prevent other players from getting them. If you’ve played wise, you really don’t ‘need’ them as your M is almost overpopulated.

 In Mid Game, when you’ve Volcs with Q cannons shielded Mountainous, you begin a new Home Sector by by
T-warping the Earth Type.

 Before T-Warping grab up of cols from the Volc, which doesn’t need very many any more, from the
Mountainous  then go.

 After getting one M to Shielded, there’s no need for another.
 You can build three Sectors and never worry that Terra is down to 13 colos a day.

With the pop on your (M) able to bring a Mountainous to Shielded, you’ve found the key to winning.
