Valor (iPhone App) Guide & Walkthrough

Welcome to My Valor Guide. Valor is a strategy based game, developed by Play Mesh, for the iPhone. In this game, you must construct a kingdom and expand your empire by dominating other players. Here is a guide to leveling up and being a certified B.A.M.F.

Quests are the key to success in this game and guide a new player very nicely. They will give you tasks to perform that will increase your kingdom size and strength. After completing each task, you must remember to claim the prize. Prizes are generally items like clay and wood that will be used to upgrade buildings. You may also receive troops from time to time. A green arrow will appear on the quest list when the prize is able to be claimed. Remember to not claim prizes if you do not have enough capacity to hold it.

Battling is another way to gain strength in this game. You can attack fellow players and raid their resources to bring back to your kingdom. The best way to ensure victory is to join a guild. You can then coordinate attacks with fellow team mates. One will initiate the attack and others will send support troops to help. It is best to gang up on members without a guild so you will not accidentally start a war. Likewise for you, being part of a guild will help you to not be attacked by guild members constantly.

The only other tip I can offer you is to play daily! Logging in consistently is required for this game in the beginning but slows down as you progress. This is due to upgrades taking longer and using more resources as the levels increase. You must make sure that you log in every day to get your bonus. You will be awarded an Amulet. The amulet can be used to play the Wheel of Fortune, which allows you an opportunity to win great prizes.

Usually in Browser Strategy games (such as KingsAge, Evony, etc) I would agree with “Quests are the key to success in this game”

However, the Quest rewards in the browser based versions of Valor are far greater than spending a few thousand resources to gain 100, 250, 500 (etc) of each. That isn’t to say you shouldn’t do your quests, just that you shouldn’t rely on them as you would in Browser based Strategy Games.

My suggestion is to build up a small army of 100 Lancers asap.
This will allow you to farm the Barbarian Cities and inactive players nearest to you. Farming with your army is the fastest way to gain resources. Once you’ve researched and trained a few Knights, you can retire your Lancers and farm villages with your horsies.

As far as I can tell at the moment, the best way to gain points is to upgrade your City Hall. Troops do not reward points. Points are given based on the type of building and the current level of that building. The City Hall, Barracks, Stable and Resources typically reward the most points.

City Hall upgrades are also a good because they lower all build times, allowing you to quickly upgrade the buildings that you NEED (warehouse, farm, resources, wall, etc) that wouldn’t warrant AS MANY points.

Lastly, I’d like to add that while I’m not a gold farmer in MMOs, I do think we should give support to P2P games that deserve it. Valor is a very well designed app, and I’ve been searching for a game just like it for a very long time. There are apps similar to it, but none that capture the browser games they’re based off of.
I would highly recommend spending the $5 to buy 100 Gold in the Store in order to take advantage of the Queue Extender (worth 50 Gold). I don’t suggest wasting your money every week, but it’s a great idea for those wishing to build their up their Points.

The Queue Extender is free to all new players for 7 days, and must be purchased on the 8th day to raise building queue limit (from 2 to 5).

    Anyway, hope that helps.

No. Not unless the game gives everyone a bonus like they did a while ago. 50 gold coins to all players.

@Talon: you can search the map region in which you’re in, and look for guilds that way. You can then message the guild leader to pass you an invite.

@steve: not to my knowledge. You can try building up your city and conquer another near your friends’.

@vuja: not sure if I can answer your question but I will say that the help section is misguiding or confusing sometimes. I do believe that the staff in Valor need to fix that…

So there is no way to get gold in game? You have to pay real money for it? Don\\\’t you need gold to collect resources from your lumber mill, quarry, etc; or am I not doing something right?

  15. Nayf
    Posted November 14, 2011 at 1:43 am

@Vuja123 – a level 28 lumbermill (in the world I play in) is worth 2704 pts. But a level 27 lumbermill is worth 2214 pts, which you already had.
So the increase is 490 pts (2704 – 2214), which is what happened to you.
The only way you’d get 2000+ pts for it is if you went straight from level 1 to level 28, which you can’t do.

    @xLockiex

Build an academy, which can be done by upgrading your city hall to 25, forge to 20, and barracks to 15. After that you must purchase scholarships (with resources) which you use to educate your scholars (also resources, like buying a unit). Sending a scholar to attack another city will lower its loyalty by 20-30. The scholar has to live in order for it to do so. Repeated attacks will drop the loyalty to zero, at that point the city is yours. :)
There is a tactic called chaos in which you have 40 attacks moving at a target city. That city cannot build troops or receive support, and in consolation you can’t send any more attacks (doesn’t matter since you have 40 already).

I would like to know how to build up my army? I’ve been playing it for some time now (my City Hall is level 21) but i can’t make any progres in Quests cause I don’t have any army.. I’ve attacked couple of barbarian cities before, but it seams like I’ve just stoped producing soldiers.. I haven’t had them for a while now.. I’m only at my 3rd Quest.. Please help..

Hey is there anywhere where I can find a list of the stats that each building gets as you level it up?

  24. Coca
    Posted February 28, 2012 at 11:53 pm

    Chao:
there are queue for attack and support. If you make it full, it will activate Chao so that no more input accept.
Attack queue is 40 and support queue is 25.
Although attack chao is activated, he still can accept the support.
Only same Guild mate can send support (troops) and out-of-guild player can attack.

The best way to go up points is conquer more cities.

    How to conquer:
Build Academy, buy scholarship and educate scholar.
No of scholarship to educate scholar needed is increased upon no of scholars you have.
Each conquer of a city used up a scholar.
Eg: To conquer 5 cities, you need 5 scholars (1+2+3+4+5=15 scholarships need to be purchased.

    Population:
Farm will increase the population in your city. Max level 30 (23778 people). Each building used people and army also use people.
Different type of soldier cost different head count.
    All foot soldiers 1 unit= 1 head.
    Scout 1 unit= 2 head, Knight 1 unit = 3 heads, Guardian 1 unit = 4 heads.
    Ram 1unit=4 heads, Balst 1unit = 6 heads.
If you train lots of army and used up max population, you cannot build anymore building.

Many things to write. Explore in the game. … :)
