When Will Game Developers Start to Make Netbook-friendly Games?
Since the enormous boom in net-book sales, we see new models pop up every month. Therefore, is it too preposterous to say that somewhere in the near future, net-book users will want to be able to play games as well?
I’m no fanatic gamer, but i tend to enjoy some ” fragging” every now and then. But because of circumstances, i have to use a net-book nowadays. One of the things i immediatley started to miss where my games.
In my opinion, people who own a net-book are still seriously disadvantaged in terms of gaming. Yesterday, i was thinking of buying the new realistic shooter “Operation Flash-point 2: Dragon Rising” for a friend’s birthday. As i picked it up, i noticed the IMMENSE system requirements. You need a dual-core 2.4 ghz processor… Seriously? Somebody i know uses the new top-of-the-line macbook pro and he didn’t even meet those MINIMUM requirements…
I don’t understand why the gaming industry hasn’t already jumped on this new hot customer group. Do they really believe people need über-realistic graphics to enjoy a game? They could be making insane profits just by looking at a net-book as if it were a real console. Hopefully, they will realise this in the near-future.
I guess net-book owners will have to hold their breath a little longer…
