Four Old But Classic Games for Macintosh Computers
In the early days of home computers, video games were kind of lacking. Many didn’t have great graphics or even great gameplay, but every once in a while there were some that were quite awesome. Take a look at four of the best earlier games for Apple Macintosh computers.
Action Strategy Baseball
This sports game was one of the early greats of shareware and freeware for Macintosh computers. Sure, it was only black and white, and sure, the graphics weren’t that great, but it was still a heck of a lot of fun to play as you fielded teams, controlled players and worked your way through a whole season.
Scarab of Ra
Explore the mazes of the unearthed pyramid, but avoid the mummies and the lions that lurk about. And watch out for those traps! Only once you’ve discovered the three magical items of Ra can you hope to escape from this maze game. With random mazes, no two games are ever the same!
Warcraft II: Tides of Darkness
More than a decade before the World of Warcraft became popular, the folks at Blizzard Entertainment had another hit game on their hands in Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness. Whether you took the side of the humans or the orcs didn’t matter so much, because either way this strategy game was a lot of fun.
Mechwarrior 2
Imagine a future world in which you get to pilot giant robot-like tanks into combat against a hated foe. That’s the world of Mechwarrior 2, and it’s great fun to play. Released by Activision in 1995, this is still one of the best BattleMech games ever released, in my opinion.
