Game Review- League of Legends (Free!)

Let’s take a look at a game invented by the most ingenious plagiarizers known to man!

WTF Is it?

League of Legends is what hard-core gamers call a MOBA. Of course, if you don’t live in your mom’s basement and have at least a semblance of a life, you probably don’t know what that is. So, to put it simply, it’s a cross between an RPG and a tower-defense game. You control a champion that can level up, and your goal is to destroy the other guy’s Nexus. This seems quite simple, and you know what? It is. But only simple to understand; in the words of Yoda, a long time mastering will take.

Good Tutorial

In every game like League of Legends, the community is horrible. If you do something wrong, they will hate on you. It’s not because they are all fat, slobbering donkeys though — no, it’s because of the nature of the game itself. Hence, many new players up and quit after their first game, because the tutorial didn’t teach them anything, leading to their entire team cursing them out until they quit. In League of Legends, though, the tutorial is actually acceptable! Amazing, I must admit. Why, you may ask. Well, to be quite simple, the tutorial actually tells you more than how to move, how to attack, and (NOT) how to shop. This may seem sad to you, but for every other hardcore reviewer out there, I’m sure you’ll know my warm fuzzy feeling right now. :)

Nice(r) Community

Because of the good tutorial, the community in LoL is actually quite nicer than most other MOBA game communities. That doesn’t mean they won’t spit spicy curry at you if you do something wrong though — but at least they don’t eat hater tots for breakfast or drink haterade during matches. So far, (and I’ll admit, I’m terrible at this type of game) I’ve yet to be cursed out once, unlike in that-which-shall-not-be-named (Heroes of Newerth), where I was cursed, kicked, and banned in the span of one match.

Not Pay-2-Win!

There is absolutely nothing (important) in the game that cannot be earned with in-game money. The only things that require $$$ are aesthetic matters; nothing that will actually affect your gameplay. Even better, there is a weekly rotation of free champions to play; this is quite unlike every other DOTA clone out there. All in all, the microtransaction market is much better than most other F2P games that I have played. Instead of giving outright better stuff, it simply gives you content faster than you could get it from working (slightly hard) for it. By saving $-spenders time, while not cutting off dedicated players, everyone is happy!

Oh, and in addition, there’s a referral system that gives you both RP (the currency that costs $$$) and IP (in-game currency). So, if you don’t mind, use my referral link to start playing LoL! Link:

Final Verdict: Honestly, I think that this game is one of the best free multiplayer games that I have ever played. If you like slightly challenging/MOBA games, this is for you!
