Microsoft Admits: Sony Has “Done a Nice Job with Ps4″

Microsoft’s Phil Spencer in an interview with OXM praised Sony with the PS4 and their success.

Sony and Microsoft have both released their new generation consoles and both are nearly sold out everywhere and both companies are having trouble keeping up with consumer demand, amongst all that Microsoft takes its time to praise Sony on the PS4 and their vision with the PS4 from the start.

Speaking to OXM Phil Spencer noted about what he liked about Sony and their commitment to franchises “even if they don’t sell 10 million units”, as he was speaking about that he shifted the focus onto the PS4 console itself:

“I think that long-term commitment to franchises is important, where it’s easy to pull off the Band-Aid and move onto the next thing [if it doesn’t sell]. I respect their ’stick-to-it-iveness’. I’ll say, they’ve done a nice job with PS4 […] When I think about their announcement, their clear focus on a customer, leading with the value proposition of what they’re trying to do, staying true to a vision, I think they’ve done a nice job in how they defined the PS4.”

Phil Spencer notes that Sony has always had a “clear focus” on the consumer ever since their PS4 announcement. This is something that Microsoft has taken some heat over because their Xbox One revealed focused more on the features of the Xbox One (TV), than the games which is what the consumer cares about when buying a gaming console.

Seems Microsoft has learnt their lesson and are praising the competition for keeping a one true vision with their product. Microsoft actions are respectable, the Xbox One can only get better.
